Izuku woke up first. He quietly walked to the bathroom and took a shower. By the time he'd done his morning routine and gotten dressed in his business suit, Mei and Himiko were already awake.
"Good morning sleepy heads," Izuku mocked his friends. "You might wanna hurry up and change from those pjs and into your business attire. We have three hours until a meeting with the building contractors. And I won't be late because neither of you are morning people and we ALL need to be present. They will have a translator so no excuses of 'We won't be able to understand them!'"
"Finnnneee," Himiko sighed, as she and her girlfriend got up from the couch and walked to the bathroom to get ready. About 15 minutes later all three of them were dressed and ready for the meeting.
Izuku called over a cap outside the hotel. Izuku told the driver the address of the contractor's office, and paid the fee in yen. Luckily, their bank in America translated a good sum of money from usd to yen on Nani's request.
Which meant the group of three young entrepreneurs didn't have to worry about finding specific people who took usd for cash in Japan. It was helpful. After the ride, Izuku, Himiko, and Mei had a spare 10 minutes to get inside and find the meeting room.
Izuku talked to the lady at the front desk and she gave him some directions. Mei and Himiko stuck by Izuku's side, fearing if they got lost they wouldn't be able to find Izuku due to- as mentioned before- a severe language barrier.
Izuku saw a door labelled- 206. This was it-
"Ok, the lady said there's a meeting going on and to sit outside until we're called in."
Mei and Himiko nodded. All three sat outside the room, on the provided chairs in the hallway. There was some shuffling inside the room, before the door opened and a man with brown hair and a young lady with blonde hair stepped out, closing the door behind them.
"Ahh hello! Young ones! What brings you here!" Mei and Himiko nervously looked at Izuku for help. Izuku rolled his eyes-
"We're here for a meeting," Izukus stood up with a smile. "I apologize for my friends, we came here from America and they're not fluent in Japanese."
"Oh, I see," The man spoke in english this time around, surprising Mei and Himiko. Izuku smiled-
"Himiko, Mei, this is David Shield. And his daughter Melissa Shield. They are the sponsors of this contracting company. They had a meeting today and wanted to join us to see just who this company is making contracts with and how they do them."
"OHHHH!" Himiko said, with a bit of a confused expression.
"Well, the names explain why they speak english. David and Melissa are common American names. So, you must be from there right?!" Mei smiled, as he jumped up from her seat.
"Yes, we are!" The blonde girl- now named Melissa- smiled, softly. "You are the ceos of 'Minority Industries'? Are you not/"
"Yup! That's us!" Mei smiled, as she pulled Izuku and Himiko into a group hug. Izuku on her left, and Himiko on her right. "This is my girlfriend, Himiko Sanders, and my best friend Izuku Shimura!"
"Shimura?" David seemed a bit shocked, like he knew the name.
"Yes, do you know my grandmother? Nani Shimura."
"I didn't know her personally, but I knew her student."
"Oh. The world really is a small place, isn't it?" Izuku laughed.
"I'm sure her student would be happy to hear how she's been doing. He's been working non-stop recently, since he got a second job as a teacher."
"All Might got a job as a teacher!?" Izuku covered his mouth. He tried his hardest to separate Izuku SHIMURA from Izuku YAGI. "I mean- Nani told me about All Might being her student, and how he became a hero, but I have no idea he became a teacher."
"Hmm, I'm shocked he hasn't talked to her about it. I'll ask him to call her sometime," Izuku's expression turned grim. "What's wrong? Did they have a falling out I don't know about?"
"No it's not that..." Izuku sighed. "My grandmother is sick. With a terminal illness. The doctors don't know what caused it. So, if you want All Might to speak with her, you should probably tell him."
"Good idea. I'll call him after our meeting," David gave Izuku a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother."
"Not your fault, and you didn't know. Anyway, don't we have a meeting to get to."
"Yes we do!" Both Izuku and David were glad about the change of subject.
The meeting wasn't really anything special. Just the typical, talk about pricing, budget, location, etc. Afterwards, Mei, Izuku, and Himiko, were the proud owners of a office building just put up for sale.
Due to them being kids, and not that physically fit at that, they wanted a building that was fully furnished, though they'd accepted a deal where the building wasn't furnished, but instead cleaned up with running water and electricity.
They would work on the furniture soon. Izuku smiled, as the 'FOR SALE' sign was taken off the corner of the block. Izuku walked in with his notebooks in hand. He started sketching out a floor plan for furniture, office spaces, and other necessities.
Izuku and his friends walked to a furniture store and an office supply store. Together, the group decided on what would be put in the building and what they should buy. Izuku talked with an employee who explained the delivery process.
Over the next few weeks, Izuku had a moving company come in with a few volunteers to furnish the building. Izuku smiled, as the place was coming together. Now all they needed was employees.
Izuku put up ads for 'NOW HIRING' and 'HELP WANTED' online and paid for a few local newspapers to run these ads too. Izuku smiled, as he had a few interviews. Most were newbies fresh outta high school or middle schoolers looking for part-time jobs.
Izuku accepted anyone who fit their basic needs. They were just starting up this branch of their business, being strict wouldn't help. But he did have one strict rule. No discriminatory viewpoints! Mei and Himiko were at the hotel having some... personal time... while Izuku did what was needed to be done.
Izuku smiled, as his last interview for the day landed a 10th hire. For a few days worth of interviews that was good for a starting company. Most of his older applicants were part of minority groups.
He could see why, every store, shop, business, he went to. All he saw were people who were deemed 'perfect'. Never a mutation quirk user, never one that seemed a bit off. No disabled people. Hell. He hadn't seen one person with the special shoes designed for the quirkless person's second toe joint.
Even if the shoes seem like regular oversized shoes. Izuku wore those shoes, he knew when he saw them. Nearly half his younger applicants had those shoes. Sure, he couldn't hire ALL of them. But he did end up hiring two 20 year old quirkless women who qualified for manager positions.
With those new managers, it meant Izuku could leave the hiring to them. While, he finally rested. Izuku walked down the entry hall with a few new accountants asking him to sign a few things. Izuku still had that weird feeling from last night though-
Izuku was about to shrug off the thought, when he heard-
"I AM HERE!"
"Fuck..."
