(A/N: I have a headcanon that Hatsume Mei is on the spectrum. Before people go correcting me on this. I will have you know, I am a high functioning autistic person and will be basing Mei's autism around my own experiences. So don't go saying things like 'That doesn't seem like what an autistic person would do!' or 'Autistic people don't say things like this'. I am going off of personal experience here and not all autistic people are the same.)
Izuku smiled, as he finally got his stupid tie fixed. It was the day, the day his business would expand beyond America, to JAPAN, his home-land. Sure, he hadn't seen Japan in ten years... But his mom, dad, and sister were there. Grandma Nani was currently in the hospital. If it wasn't for Izuku's success in business at a young age, they wouldn't be able to keep Nani alive.
Izuku walked by a photo on the wall of his 10th birthday, which was four years ago. The picture showed a ten year old Izuku and his grandmother at a party with his two friends- Himiko & Mei. Izuku sighed.
Himiko and Mei both used to live in Japan, like Izuku once did. Mei's mom and dad were killed when a villain attacked, Mei was six. Mei was adopted by an American Family, who were neighbors with Nani.
Himiko was abandoned when her quirk manafest. She, like Mei, was adopted by an American family who lived on the same street as Mei's family and Izuku and his grandma. It was nice to have friends.
America was much more open-minded about Izuku's quirklessness, than Japan would have been. Or well- that's what Nani and Himiko always told Izuku. Izuku, Mei, & Himiko were business partners.
Mei always loved the idea of attending the UA High support department. Even overseas in America, UA was considered the best of the best. That was probably because the world's number one hero- 'All Might'- a.k.a. Izuku's secret father- graduated from UA High.
Anyway, the reason these three were moving to Japan was because they would be opening a secondary location for 'Minority Industries' in their home land. You see each of these three teenage ceos were apart of a minority group.
Himiko had a 'villainous' quirk. 'Transform'. It allows her to transform into anyone she ingests the blood of. Himiko's adoptive family luckily had the mindset of 'there is no such thing as a villainous quirk' and Himiko's blood 'obsession' was no different than a person who needs food to survive.
Izuku was quirkless. Which surprisingly wasn't such a big issue in America. When a country literally has a anthem dedicated to freedom and honor, it's not a surprise most people would try to speak out against discrimination with little to no fear of the government saying otherwise.
There were a few kids at school who hated Izuku for his quirklessness and would bully him for it, however, the popular kid, a really nice girl with a quirk that allowed her to make others feel what she felt, stopped them.
She used her quirk to make them feel guilty about harassing others and have them apologize. She became close friends with Izuku too. Her name was Anna Miller. She was sad her three friends would be leaving for Japan, but they promised to text and call her all the time.
Then, there was Mei. Mei was autistic. She was high functioning, but she was still on the spectrum. She had trouble reading social cues. She always had trouble in subjects that don't interest her or fall under her 'special interest'.
Anyway, Izuku felt bad about leaving his Grandma alone in America. But she told him that he shouldn't let her sickness affect his dreams. She would be proud of him no matter what he did, and she loved him.
Mei's adoptive family promised to look after Nani, while Himiko's adoptive parents, who were rich as fuck, promised to help pay for the medical expenses, while Izuku was gone. It was sweet of them to help out, and Izuku was very grateful.
Anyway, Izuku, Mei, and Himiko got on the plane at the Japanese airport. Neither Himiko nor Mei spoke Japanese, since they grew up in American households. Luckily, Nani wanted Izuku to learn about his culture, and learning his homeland's language was part of that.
Izuku asked around, and some workers and civilians pointed towards the hotel that had their reservation booked. Himiko and Mei walked on either side of Izuku. Mei asked- in english-
"Don't you have family here? Why are we staying at a hotel?" Izuku paused, after a few moments the three continued walking. Izuku had pretty much already realized he's the only on in their group who was fluent enough in Japanese to talk to most people here.
"Well, I only know American English because I lived in America with Grandma Nani. But, my family here only speaks Japanese, and since neither of you are fluent in it- Well..."
"It's just easier if we stay with each other so there isn't so much of a language barrier?" Himiko questioned. Izuku nodded.
"That's not the only reason, Izuku," Mei gave Izuku a look. "You haven't spoken with your parents since they left you at Nani's... Have you?"
"No..." Izuku sighed, he was REALLY glad they were speaking English. He didn't want anyone overhearing his personal life. "It would be hard to face them. Grandma Nani may try to sugar coat it, or jump around the subject. But I know my parents dumped me on her because I'm quirkless. They couldn't have a quirkless son. So they gave me to Nani and I was a foolish kid who waited everyday for my family to pick me up for five years before I gave up waiting."
"Hey! You don't need them!" Mei stated, as they arrived at the hotel. Izuku quickly talked with the check-in lady and got their keys. If everything went well, they would have a building built and ready to use soon enough. As the group was in the elevator, Mei continued-
"I mean... You have Nani, you have us, you have Anna! You have a business! Who cares about some bastard of a father, when your living your best life!"
"Mei, I think you need to work a little more on your bluntness," Izuku sighed, but smiled anyway. "But I did need to hear that."
"Hell yeah you did! Stop sulking! We need to get some rest, for tomorrow!" Mei flopped down on one of the two beds.
The room they had reserved, had a bedroom and a bathroom. A tv on a dresser in front of a couch, a few feet in front of the beds. There was a chair in the corner of the room. Right next to the chair, was a glass sliding door that led to the third floor balcony. Overall, a pretty standard hotel room.
"So you each get a bed and I take the couch, right?" Izuku asked, the two girls. Himiko smiled, slyly.
"Nah, me and Mei will share a bed. You take the other!" Izuku rolled his eyes. It was pretty common knowledge Mei was lesbian and Himiko was bi, but it was less known- as in only Izuku and Anna knew- that Himiko and Mei were dating.
"Fine, but if your gonna fuck each other. Please do it while I'm not in the hotel room."
"Fiiiiiine!" Himiko sighed dejectly. It was pretty late, so the three decided to go to sleep. Izuku had a bad feeling about tomorrow, but he shook it off.
'It's probably nothing...'
