"So, someone watches you when I'm not around. Well not you but everything around you to make sure you stay safe..."

Him looking nervous is unsettling. Why does he look nervous?

"...Who?"

He looks away towards the windows, resting his jaw on his palm and his knee on his thigh. "Agnes."

"Oh." I poke his cheek, he turns his attention to me. "For how long?"

His attention lingers to the lines on his skin and the ones on mine. "Since you said you didn't want me to leave you with Lucifer."

I grab his face to look at me. I don't like all this avoidance, it's making me think I did something wrong. Everyone would avoid me if I did something wrong.

"Look at me, I'm not mad at you. Just explain why you didn't talk to me about it and what she does."

He looks at me for a while. "She makes sure no other demons bother you. Make sure nothing bad happens to you. I also forgot to tell you."

"Isn't that kinda too important to forget?"

"Yes but I'm not used to telling anyone everything. You know how to share everything you do, think of and plan on doing. I don't."

I feel so special, no one ever tells me anything, besides Athena. "Well you are right now so I think you're underestimating yourself."

He takes my hands off his face and looks at them instead. "Don't excuse my wrong doings."

"I'm not, I'm applauding you for taking a step in the right direction. Now stop acting like the world is gonna end and let me meet Agnes. It's the only right thing to do, I should get to meet her. And not some horrifying mass in Italy."

He smiles at me and my heart melts.

Pierce yalps and steals my attention. "I didn't forget about you." He wags his tail.

I look at my manz who is staring at me. If I got a dollar for every time he stares at me I would be rich. Richer than him.

"Has Pierce and Agnes ever met?" He nods. I look down to Pierce and he nods too. "Is she good?" I whisper to the old puppy so Death can't hear anything, it's also fun. I feel like a spy.

He nods again and boop his nose with mine. Awe my heart melts again.

Death already killed my heart enough times and now I got a cute magical puppy and he does the same thing. They're gonna be the end of me.

And my fish.

And Pikachu.

And Athena.

I turn back to my manz, "when can I meet Agnes?"

"Whenever you want except today."

"Why not today?"

He pulls me onto his lap sideways so my arm is against him and I hold Mr doggo so he doesn't fall. "You can't meet too many hell dwellers at one time or your energy will be drained too fast."
