Chapter 91: Xiong Shan's Scheme

The leader of the Jiayou Base burst into laughter. The area around was filled with people, and a large table was laden with food.

"Brother Wanjin, now that you've come to our Jiayou Base, you're under my wing. Shan-ge will treat you well," Xiong Shan raised his glass toward Wanjin's seat and toasted.

"Alright, Shan-ge," Wanjin reciprocated, a smile tugging at his lips. He held a beautiful woman in his arms, an upgrade from the future base.

Though he had followed Bao Yiliang for several years, he was never promoted. This had left him harboring resentment. Thus, he took a bold step and joined forces with the rival of the future base—the Jiayou Base.

Not long after the future base was established, the Jiayou Base followed, becoming its opposing neighbor.

Both bases were rivals, and there was no goodwill between them.

The Jiayou Base had fewer people than the future base.

Xiong Shan's intention was to recruit people from the future base, effectively turning it into an empty shell.

With his capable eldest son not by his side, dealing with the old-timer Bao Yiliang was merely a matter of time. As for Bao Yiliang's second son, he was weaker than a woman; there was nothing to fear there.

Xiong Shan was just as ambitious as Wanjin.

"Wanjin, my friend, how long can the future base hold out?" Xiong Shan asked as he drank, looking at Wanjin.

"At most, it can last a little over a month. The harvested crops and the food in the storeroom have all been moved by my men," Wanjin confidently replied.

"After a month, those people will run out of food, and they'll definitely come seeking refuge," Wanjin asserted.

Hearing this, Ai Chixi, in Wanjin's arms, felt ecstatic. She snuggled up to him and coquettishly exclaimed, "Brother Jin, you're so amazing!"

Taking the compliment from the person in his arms, Wanjin felt quite pleased with himself.

He leaned in close to her ear, his smile growing mischievous. "Brother Jin's little brother is pretty capable too, you know? How about tonight, you get to experience it firsthand, Chixi?"

Ai Chixi, pretending to be shy, blushed and playfully nudged his shoulder. "You're so bad~"

Observing the interaction between the two, Xiong Shan chuckled and couldn't resist teasing, "Brother Wanjin, you're truly fortunate. To have captured the heart of Chixi, one of the top beauties in the base, that's quite an achievement."

Wanjin had a rugged appearance and a sun-darkened skin due to constant missions outdoors. He was almost forty and still unmarried.

Ai Chixi, on the other hand, had good looks, a good figure, and was in her twenties, making them more than ten years apart.

Yet, Wanjin was quite content. He got handsy with her, touching her all over.

This made Ai Chixi pout and squirm, which only fanned the flames in Wanjin's heart.

However, in a place where Wanjin couldn't see, Xiong Shan regarded him with disdain. He thought, "Just a trollop who knows how many people she's been with, and she's so enamored."

If it weren't for the fact that Wanjin had some usefulness, there's no way he'd have him on his side.

Nevertheless, keeping him around wouldn't hurt. After all, following Bao Yiliang, he might know a thing or two about what's going on.
