Chapter 121: A Get-Together

After getting dressed, Fu Jiangci came downstairs and greeted his parents and sister before heading outside.

After notifying the other families, Bo Yibing didn't linger at their house and returned home.

The weather outside was getting colder, and Bo Yibing's cheeks and ears turned red from the cold on his way back.

Hurrying inside, he only felt the chill on his body gradually recede.

"Brother, sister-in-law," Bo Yibing greeted as soon as he entered, spotting his older brother and sister-in-law sitting on the sofa.

With several kids playing nearby, Bo Yibing suddenly felt that the house had become much livelier with the return of his older brother and sister-in-law.

Bo Yilang's mother went to the kitchen to check on the food the housekeeper had prepared.

After the apocalypse, there weren't any housekeepers left, but this housekeeper had come along with them.

There were still a few household staff members, but the rest had quit and gone back to their own families.

When they left, Bo Yilang's mother didn't stop them and even gave them some extra salary as they departed.

However, money and such had become useless pieces of paper afterward.

What was truly important now was food - it was the most crucial and necessary thing.

The dinner table was filled with a variety of dishes, most of which were prepared by Wen Xiaoxiao.

From the space, she brought out chickens, ducks, fish, shrimps, and various kinds of meat. When they asked her how she had so much, Wen Xiaoxiao explained that they were all purchased when they arrived in the post-apocalyptic world.

Bo's father and mother didn't inquire further after hearing her explanation.

Bo's mother, however, felt that her daughter-in-law was truly remarkable.

The table was laden with delicious dishes, and the Qis, Fus, and Mengs arrived for the dinner.

Bo Yibing had only entered for a short while when the others arrived.

"The smell is amazing!" Bo Yibing exclaimed as he caught a whiff of the aroma in the air, his stomach growling hungrily.

Eating at home, the food wasn't as good as his sister-in-law's. Here, there was fish and meat, and the taste was incredibly fantastic.

Back at home...

"The food suddenly loses its appeal. It's all simple dishes, but to avoid going hungry, I managed to force them down," he thought. "And then I think about the times I wasn't here, and how my parents and sister were eating this kind of food. I can't help but feel a pang in my heart. Even though Dad beats me and Mom looks down on me, I know they both love me."

Sniffling his already red nose from the cold, he tried to put those thoughts aside.

After they finished the meal, he mustered the courage to ask his sister-in-law for some delicious food to take back to his parents and sister.

"It smells amazing! So good!" Meng Qing and Fu Jiangci's reactions were identical, although not as exaggerated as his.

Meng's parents looked at their silly son and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Look how you've got him salivating. Who knows what delicious things you've made. The scent even makes me a bit hungry," Meng's mother said with a smile.
