Callie's POV~
I woke up with a bright light shining on me. "What happened?" I thought. All I remember was Carl wanting to tell me something and the dicks that were tearing down our camp. Just thinking about it gave me a headache. I looked down and saw I has completely naked from my jeans up. I had a bandage wrapped around my chest and... A hand? I looked to my right and saw Carl passed out beside me.
"Carl?" I whispered. I can barely speak. Carl jerked his head back which caused his hat to go flying like 3 feet back. I laughed a croaky laugh which probably sounded like a 10 times worse morning voice. "Callie!" Carl exclaimed. "Hershel!" Hershel, Rick, Maggie, Daryl, and Glenn all ran into the tent we were in. "She's awake." "How are you feeling, Callie?" Hershel asked. "I'm really sore." Hershel laughed along with most of the people in the tent.
"Where am I?" I asked. Rick stepped forward and explained that I was out for about 2 weeks and that we were at an abandoned quarantine zone. "Carl carried you the whole time you were out." Rick said. I took a glance at Carl who was adorably blushing in the corner of the tent. "The walkers overran the prison. We needed to leave before anybody else died. "Wait, who died? "Tyreese and Sasha." "Is Beth okay?" "Beth is fine. Do you want her here?" "Yeah, I want to talk to her. Alone." Rick was halfway out of the tent. "Wait, Rick?!" "Yes Callie?" "Is Judith okay too?" He let out a small chuckle and smiled. "She's okay too."
I smiled knowing that my half little sis was okay. I waited for about 3 minutes when Beth came in. "Hey, bestie. How are you holding up?" "Really sore. Thanks for asking." "No problem. "Is this a permanent place? The quarantine zone?" She let out a sigh. "For now. We set up some traps so the walkers can't get in. And there's a fence inside of that. We're okay for now." "Is this a well known destination? Do people around Georgia know about this place?" "We don't even think we're in Georgia anymore. We've been driving for days without stopping."
"Do you have any guesses of which state we're in?" "Rick thinks we're in South Carolina now. Away from the jerks that destroyed the prison. I sighed. "I miss it already." "Same." There was some comfortable silence until I broke it. "Can you get your dad? I want to get up and survive the right way." Beth laughed and got up to get Hershel.
Hershel and Carl finally came through the tents to help me get up. "I think your finally healed enough to get up and walk around. No extreme movements, which means no going on runs just yet. Doctor's orders." "Thanks, Hershel, for taking care of me." Hershel just smiled and walked out leaving me with Carl. "I'll help you get your shirt back on." He took my hand and pulled me up so that our faces were inches apart. "I was going to tell you something back at the guard tower but I got interrupted. I'm too tired to say it in words though so I might just show you." He put his hand on my back and pulled me closer which connected our lips.
I pulled away before it got too heated. "Um I kind of like you." Carl said with a smile. "I like you too." I smiled back. This is the start of something incredible.
