Carl's POV~
It's day 3 of the Callie search. We already have a good idea of where she is, but we want to be sure before we risk our lives for no reason at Woodbury. Every morning I volunteer to be on guard watch because seeing the sunrise reminds me of her. I felt a teardrop fall down my face, making me hastily wipe it off.
"Hey." Beth's voice rang out. "I saw that tear, Carl. Sometimes, it's okay not to be okay." I didn't say anything, just turned my head the other way. "Look, you're not the only one that's worried about Callie. She's my best friend." I looked at her and smiled, picturing Callie's face on Beth's. I leaned in and kissed her. Beth stayed for a second, but jerked her head away. "Carl, why'd you do that?!" "I- I don't know!" I said.
Beth quickly got up and climbed down the ladder of the guard trailer, leaving me in silence. "Ugh!" I yelled and slammed my fist on the roof of the trailer. "Wow, your girlfriend could be dead and you decide to kiss her best friend. What a jerk move." I thought to myself. "I can't tell her, not right away. She'll be too tired to hear this shit." After about another hour of talking to myself, I finally decide to walk over to the cafeteria where the Operation Callie meeting is going to be held.
I opened the double doors of the cafeteria and sat down across from Beth. She didn't make any effort to talk or even look at me, and I don't blame her. "Okay. Now that everyone is here, we will be starting our meeting. I'm sure we all know that Callie has gone missing, and we all have a good idea of where she is, Woodbury."
Callie's POV~
I've been sitting in this disgusting chair for about 3 days now. "What if they forgot about me?" I thought. Just then The door swung open and the light completely burned my eyes. As my eyes started to finally adjust to the light I saw a man shaped figure inching it's way towards me. They weren't walking normally, kind of limping and they were moaning and groaning a lot.
The door finally shut and I could see. It was a walker. I remembered a knife that I put in my shoe, but how would I get it if my hands and legs were tied to this chair? I started rubbing my wrists against the the legs of the chair where there was an open nail. In no time my hands were free. The walker was just about to bite my neck, but I pushed it away with my hands. I leaned over and untied my legs.
I stood up but right away I fell down. My legs were weak because I've been sitting for days. I felt some strength from the adrenaline pump into my legs and I got up, holding the knife in my hands. I ran towards the walker and stabbed my knife clean into its skull. I was still shaking from the fear. I haven't done that in a while. I noticed a small window at the corner of the room, and decided I would try to escape.
The door flew open again but this time two actual men walked in. "Hey!" They both said. They pulled me down by the legs and started punching my face and kicking my ribs. "Where do you think you're going?" One of the men whispered in my ear. All of a sudden two arrows went trough their heads and Daryl and Rick came shooting towards me.
Daryl picked me up and my whole world went black.
