Chapter 19: The Hunt Begins

(SUMMARY: Saki Yoshida, your average schoolgirl, decided to make a change in her life, both physical and mental. Shortly after, she met a man named Hayato and experienced sex for the first time. Eventually, due to pressure at home from being blackmailed by her classmates and even raped by her own father, she ran away and went to live with Hayato, but even that didn't last. Two years later, even Hayato abandoned her, and she discovered she was pregnant. With the help of an old friend, Matthew Clark, his family, and the Tanakas, Saki was able to make amends with her mother and even managed to become actual friends with her classmates after almost three years. Saki was able to give birth successfully to a little girl she named Hana, and both she and Matt moved into their own apartment, which just so happens to be Saki's old house. However...the joy was too good to be true, as in a shocking reveal: Hayato turns out to be a member of the Clark family long thought dead, and Jacob is killed by a mysterious yet sinister entity: Haures. In outrage and grief, Matt almost isolated himself from the others, but Saki stopped him. Now...it's a race against time for what Haures' intentions are.)

The search for Haures' intentions was still on. They were able to put Hana to sleep with relative ease at this point. Saki and Matt let out a sigh as they both sat down on the couch.

Saki: There. We should get some rest before she wakes up again...don't know if—

Matt: No...I'm not done searching for it today.

Saki: Matt, we've already looked everywhere for something hinting at Haures' intentions!

Matt: All but one place.

Saki: You sure?

Matt: I am. Let's go.

Matt and Saki headed outside, the clouds looming overhead blocking out the sun. Matt knocked on the door, and Devin was the first one to answer.

Devin: Come in.

Matt and Saki sat down on the couch alongside Devin.

Devin: How's the kid?

Saki: Hana's doing well. A couple weeks ago, she opened her eyes for the first time while I was holding her—honestly, the only highlight of these two months. How are you guys doing?

Devin: Emily is still scouting the internet, trying to find something. Meanwhile, Kaede is going through some of Harry's old stuff; hopefully she—

Kaede: Guys, I found something!

Kaede immediately walked into the living room and saw Saki. Emily quickly followed suit afterwards.

Emily: Both me and Kaede have banded together this time! I researched the name "Haures," and I asked Kaede if she was able to see anything on that!

Kaede: And lo and behold, I found this paper!

Kaede put the paper down on the table. There was something written on it, but it was literal gibberish.

Emily: Ok, just hear us out! As I put the name in the search bar, a crap ton of stuff emerged, and it all lead to this!

Emily showed them her computer screen...

Emily: The Legend Of The Eight is real!

Saki: No way...I thought that was just a children's tale!

Kaede: I know, right?! As we kept searching, Emily stumbled upon some text. Guys, this isn't some random shape; this is the ancient text Shiro mentioned!

Matt: Ok...now we at least know what we're up against. Still, the question remains...how do we translate it?

Emily: There is a ritual that can summon one of The Eight! It varies from the members, but we were able to find one for the "The Sunbearer". Once we tell them that Haures is back, they will most likely help us out!
