Chapter 7: Secrets Unearthed

(SUMMARY:Upon graduating into high school, Saki Yoshida took the chance to change herself from a normal person to a beauty. Shortly after, she discovered the joy of sex with a man named Hayato. She followed her friend's advice, who, in the end, would play a part in her downfall—same as her parents. Shortly after being dumped by Hayato, Saki discovers that she is pregnant and has a newfound purpose. In her time alone on the streets doing filthy work for money, she reunited with an old friend, Matthew Clark, although neither of them realized it at first (they had their reunion eventually). However, not everything would be all sunshine and rainbows as she and her mother reunited, but she was now humbled and willing to make a change and start over.)

Two months had passed since Saki reunited with her mother, Matt, and his family. Her tan had finally wore out and she had removed the piercings, leaving only the bleached hair and the tattoos. Ayano asked Rohan if he could help Saki finish her education, and he agreed, stating something along the lines of, "I mentored one of the best teachers at Chiyoda. I got this." As of right now, Rohan had just finished up one of his classes.

Rohan: Alright, that's all I have for today! Thanks for being persistent when catching up, especially after our late start, Miss Yoshida. And...enjoy summer break.

Saki stood up from her chair and began packing her things. She looked back at Rohan with a huge smile.

Saki: Hey...thanks again for doing this. Truth be told, not completing school was one of my biggest regrets. Seriously, from the bottom of my heart...thank you. I wish I could repay you somehow.

Rohan smiled and put his hand on Saki's shoulder.

Rohan: You don't owe me anything. It just...pains me that someone as bright as you couldn't finish their education due to those jackasses. Excuse my language. Me and the other homeroom teacher have sort of partnered up to do stuff like this. Besides, Mr. Taguchi has things handled. Admittedly, he's become more of a no-nonsense teacher than I am, but you wouldn't know from his appearance.

Saki nodded at the thought. Three years really can change people, huh? Thankfully, everyone lived very closely, so Saki was able to walk home safely.

Saki: Mom, I'm home!

Ayano: Welcome home, sweetie! How was school today?

Saki: It went well! Rohan is an amazing teacher!

The duo tried to return to any shred of normality they could have from the past three hectic years. But...one thing would always be different.

Ayano: So, how's the baby?

Saki always smiled whenever Ayano asked that. She was so thankful that her mother was accepting of the current circumstances...but it was probably also in part because she was excited to be a grandmother.

Saki: It's doing well! Still hard to believe it—five months in, and still going strong!

Ayano: I know! Trust me, the best feeling is when you finally meet them! Trust me, I know from experience!

Saki nodded in agreement. At first, she had doubts about being able to break free, but here she was, finally getting back to a mostly stable life!

Saki: Hey, what's for dinner?

Ayano: Fuyumi invited us and the Tanakas over for dinner! We're ordering Chinese and watching movies!

Saki: That sounds exciting! When are we heading over?!

Ayano: We can go whenever you want!

Saki then decided to go once they both changed into casual clothing. Rohan insisted that Saki didn't need to dress formally, but she wanted to do so, so he just went with it. Saki and Ayano went to Fuyumi's house, and with a simple knock and a couple seconds of waiting, the door was opened.
