Aspen was an above average child. Not quite genius, amazing, or exceptional, but he was fairly good at everything he put his mind to. When he was only 14 years old, World War 3 broke out, throwing his world into chaos. The apocalypse was expected by many, with even more already preparing for the worst. Aspen was one of these, he and his father trained in self defense classes. The moves at first were basic, but the apocalypse didn't happen until five years later. This meant that their training had gotten more advanced over the years.
Unfortunately the classes did not help him on his old world, because their house was set on fire by a riot that was tearing through the city. Aspen, in a life or death situation, was sent into another universe by a small artifact named The Stray. During the teleportation, something within the artifact recalibrated the destination into the new universe. It is not known how The Stray was in the possession of Aspen's father.
