"hey," lynn smiled on his doorstep. they had decided for a night to do studying at chris' house since lynn's parents were entertaining and she didn't want to cancel on him. "how are you?" things have certainly been better since their little escape room outing. despite how random it was, she was able to reconnect with him and his friends.

liv was all for this and made it extremely clear that night in the car. chris responded to her that he was doing good and felt prepared for their test. he knew he could do well given that he's had so much help from lynn. this grade could really impact his current 60% in the class. she stopped to say hi to nick and matt who were engrossed in a game of mario kart in the living room, before following chris to his room and desk space.

"sorry, this place is a mess," he chuckled.

"chris, i don't care. it's fine. i literally had to deep clean my room before our first session," she reassured him. he tidied up the desk space since they'll be using it and invited her to take a seat. "oh, i don't think i said it but me and olivia had a really great time last saturday,"

"really? i'm glad. i thought it would be cool if you guys pulled up and it was. it kinda felt like things were back to normal, you know?" lynn tilted her head at first but then agreed.

"in a way, yeah," she said, sweetly. "but seriously, open up the book. it's time for math," she chuckled.

"this is child abuse," he quipped. "academic child abuse, at that,"

"you're almost 18," she mentioned.

"exactly. therefore, still a child," he crossed his arms. lynn rolled her eyes and opened the book for him and put him on the proper page. lynn told him which problems he got wrong last time and explained how to do them properly. but as lynn began to go through the material, chris found his mind wandering. he was grappling with thoughts from their recent outing and the evolving nature of their relationship. lynn soon caught on, sassily remarking, "you're not hearing a word i'm saying, are you?"
