lynn applied her blush on top of her foundation and other products to complete her base. it was saturday night and she was getting ready for her date with ethan. she curled her eyelashes before applying mascara and made the face.

ethan was expected at her house at around 7:30 for their 8:15 reservation. she finished her makeup and changed out of her button up and into a long sleeve knit in white with a black dress over it. she put leg warmers on and scrunched them towards her ankles, before putting on her doc marten's.

she looked in her mirror before she grabbed her house keys and her phone. she texted liv that she's ready and sent a fit pic to her. liv responded of how cute her outfit was and that she wants lynn to stay safe and enjoy herself. lynn smiled that her best friend had her side and responded with a thank you. she exhaled, realizing how stressed she was about this and for nothing.

ethan rang her doorbell, in a black button up with the top button undone, showing his chest a little bit. his hair was still wet from the shower he took an hour ago, but it's fine, hopefully he wouldn't catch a cold. he stood waiting and checked his breath several times. he swapped which hand the flowers were in at least 5 times while lynn went down the stairs. she texted her parents she was leaving the house and opened the door.

"hi beautiful," ethan smirked. "pretty flowers for a pretty girl," he had already made her blush. he handed her the flowers which had her swoon. he remembered which ones she liked from class.

"ethan, these are amazing," she smiled. "do you mind if i put them inside? it'll be quick," she tried to convince him.

"no worries, we have plenty of time anyway until our reservation. i like to be punctual," he laughed. she giggled in return and led him into the house, closing the door behind him. she told him it'll only take a second and went to get a vase on top of the fridge and in the cabinet. she barely reached but was able to get the glass vase down in one piece. once she made her little centerpiece, she was ready to go.

he led her out this time, yet she still locked the door behind him. he opened the car door for her and went to the drivers seat to go to the restaurant not too far from her house. "you look really nice," she said. "the haircut too, even though i was a little scared when you said you were thinking of a cut," he looked over for a moment and smiled.

"i can't disappoint, what can i say?" he grinned. she chuckled a little. they had some small talk in the car, he drove a nice car. he definitely cleaned it because she was coming but of course, he'd never admit that.

she plugged her phone in to charge it but it accidentally connected to the aux. "now connected to lynn's iphone 13" the car said.

"play something good," he said. she shrugged, smiling, and went to her driving playlist. she clicked "stargazing" by the neighborhood and let the song play. he didn't have the same music taste as her, as she learned in class, but he nodded his head to the song. she looked out the window as they drove and he unthinkingly grabbed her hand from her lap, then put his hand on the gear shift with hers in between. she couldn't help but get butterflies.

she still had this feeling as though she forgot something. it made her anxious but the feeling of his hand on hers calmed her down. she smiled and looked over to him as they finally reached their destination, with only enough time to listen to three songs.

they both stepped out of the parked car and thus into the restaurant. he approached the hostess stand and said: "ethan torres, table for two," the hostess looked through the book and she found his name. she led him to their table. it was a booth in the corner of the restaurant where they sat across from each other. the hostess handed them their menus to which they said thank you and she walked away. moments later another waiter came over and poured water for the both of them, as well as giving them bread and butter.

they continued talking from where they left off i. the car, rambling about themselves. they were slowly getting to know each other but the connection was there.

as the night continued, they talked and laughed and overall had a great evening. her phone buzzed a few times to which she was a little annoyed but she put it on silent about halfway through dinner. they split a chocolate cake and left, as ethan drove her back home.

once he left her porch, she pressed her back against the door from the inside. she couldn't stop herself from smiling so widely. her evening was perfect, and soon enough, she forgot why she was anxious all along.
