The sound of waves crashing on the shore filled my ears.
It was always peaceful at this time of day, since most were getting ready to head home.

The sky had turned into a gentle hue of light colours. Orange, pink, a soft violet.

But just as the sky was filling up with colours the sun disappeared and the sky began to darken.

I glance down at my arms and legs.
The Tanhì (glowing freckles) all over my body resembled a map, some were similar to the patterns of the stars in the sky. I traced some of them on my skin, naming the ones I made up as a child.

My trail of thoughts soon became interrupted by a voice.

"y/n!" Rotxo called to me, his silhouette emerging from the water as be smiled, showing off his teeth.

He sat next to me in the sand, the microscopic pebbles sticking to his skin, little droplets of water dripping onto the ground.

"Hi, rotxo" I spoke, grinning.

Rotxo and I have been freinds for what feels like forever.

" hello" he replied, his hand reaching out for mine, taking a hold of it as I reached for his cheek, kissing it tenderly.

" how have you been?" I asked.

" pretty busy, aonung has been dragging me everywhere, so I have been helping him with a few of his duties" he chuckled.

I leant my head on his shoulder and sighed.

"What about you?"

Rotxo fiddled around with his songcord on his loincloth before looking at me, a soft glow in his eyes.

" I've been okay, a bit bored though. I'm glad you are here with me now" I  beamed.

rotxo made patterns in the sand with his finger. "Me too" he sighed contently.

Suddenly I feel my body being picked up, strong arms wrapping under my knees and torso.

" Rotxo! What are you doing?!" I laughed, feeling bits of water splash me before being dunked.

I come up for air,gasping as my silky locks stick to my face. " I hate you. Skxawng."

He chuckled at this, his eyes crinkling "come on, it was funny" he reasoned. But instead of answering I sighed, letting out a soft giggle.

As i was treading the water around me i thought of an idea to get back at him, quickly pulling my finned arm back, pushing it through the water, sending a small wave toward him.

The water splashed his face and he winced, opening his eyes and letting his mouth gaping at me in disbelief.

"what was that for?" He squeaked.

I snorted and spoke, " dont act like the victim here, you know what you did".

And before I could blink another wave came crashing in my direction. I sent another one and it turned into a splash war.

One splash in particular came hurdling as I was laughing, causing me to accidentally swallow an amount of water. I started to cough, my arms and legs beginning to burn from keeping myself above water for so long. Rotxo was quick to get me onto a rock nearby, making sure that I was okay.

I sat on the smooth, surface, spitting out any water that I could.

"Are you okay?I'm so sorry I didnt mean to I -" rotxo kept apologising but I shushed him

" I'm fine" I assured.

" I'm sorry" he frowned "are you sure you're okay? Do you need anything??"

" I'm okay rotxo, thank you." I smiled and patted the spot next to me on the rock. Noticing the gesture he climbs onto the surface and sits next to me.

The frown on his face was still visible. I kissed his forehead, pulling him in for a hug. We rocked back and forth in eachothers arms, enjoying the sound of waves and campfires crackling on the beach near us.

The moons shone bright, illuminating the scenery beautifully.

The rest of the night was calm. Tracing the patterns on our skin, finding the little shapes and patterns that branched out.

"Do you think that maybe we are meant for eachother?" Rotxo asks.

" yeah. I know so."

Had to dedicate this first one to my boy rotxo because theres literally nothing out there that includes him and hes my bbg <3

And jesus, I feel bad for other authors out there, I could NOT stay focused for that long. And this was a pretty short one too so idk how I'm gonna do this👍
