I have not written many poems.
Of those I have not written
Would they not be worth writing?
Would the poems be best written
When the writing is not wrote?
Would the writing of the poems
Be the very best of all?
Would the writing be amazing?
Would the unwritten be best written
If unwritten it remained?
Would the written be best written
If unwritten it had been?
Of all the unwritten the written
Now is gone.
And the unwritten written is left
To those of us still writing.
But the writer does not write
For the things that he has written,
No, the writer only writes
For what he has unwritten.
But everything unwritten,
Unwritten will remain,
For the writer will keep writing,
But will never catch up
To the unwritten words inside his head.
A writer's work is never done,
Or so the people say,
But the writer keeps on writing
Until their words have run out.
Not that the unwritten has been written
But that the writer cannot write
For the unwritten written will remain.
And so the writer will keep writing until they are spent,
But the unwritten will always remain a mystery
To those that do notwrite.
