Chapter 2

TITLE

~Senku Point Of View~

1000 years after humanity had been turned to stone.. one day came, where Senku awakened..

'"WOAHHH!! IT BROKE!!" some how I do kinda fell like coming bursting out like that..' Senku thought as the stone from his face cracked and reveal his face. 'kukuku.. I'm sure a scatter-brained simpleton like Taiju would ten billion percent do that.' He chuckled inwardly as he sit up looking at his naked body cover with a stone like minerals. Suddenly he noticed a flower crown was placed on his head. 'someone wouldn't just place this on a random statue, so it must be one of the three. Yuzuriha, Taiju or Higan..' he grabbed the flower crown and place it on the ground.

He outline the position he was laid at and observe the stone like minerals that fell off his body. He noticed monkey staring at him with judgemental eyes.

;; HE'S ALL FRICKING SMOOTH AND SHINY?!? WHAT THE HELL!? ;;

They ended up running away, Senku didn't really pay it any mind. He cover his private area with leafs and vines. And then he begins to calculate the exact time, day, month, and year that day was.

'from the time I was turned to stone, it has been 117254893870 seconds. That was a rough mental math, keeping track of all those second was annoying enough to want to die. Besides, from the rotation of the earth, every 1000000 years, 17 second are lost.. so there's not really much point in in even keeping track of these detailed numbers.'

He marked on a tree. -year 5738- "Today will be 0 A.D, everything starts from now." He chuckled.

He spent almost 3 months creating tools, building ropes, making fire, acquiring food, making clothes, and building a tree house. Although this took quite a toll on his body since he isn't as strong as Taiju.

'God damnit.. Just surviving as a lone human is taking every last ounce of energy out if me. Leave alone time for science progress, finding that one that awaken before or.. fuck all..' Senku laid on the ground facing the sky as he pants in exhaustion..

'if I could at least find someone with lots of physical strength and stamina or that person that awaken before me.. I could at least still have a little time for science..' Senku thought as he laid there.

Suddenly, Senku came to a realisation. He immediately when to find Taiju. Senku calculated where he might find him and there he is.. Taiju stone body was inside a hole. There was a flower crown on his head just like how he had when he woke up. It seem this person went out if their way to dig Taiju out and put a flower crown on him. "Kukuku, now there's a face I was so sick of seeing, I never thought I'd want to see again." Senku smirked and chuckle as he looks down. "It's been a good long 3700 years, hasn't it.. you big clumsy oaf.."

He then thought over it again, creating hypothesis and theory to how humanity suddenly turned to stone 3700 years ago. He knows one thing for sure is that specifically humans and swallows alone were pinpointed as targets.

'At a glance, this seems like the stuff of straight fantasy, but.. there has to be some kind of rule of logic behind it all.. that's how I'm going to fight it. Because searching for rules is the essence of science.'

He sat there pondering is his own made up world.

'just think.. how did I break free from my petrification? Did It simply degrade over time? If I revived from degradation over time, then did the degraded and weather surface of my body have repaired itself? The petrification turns you to stone through and through.. but when I revived, I broke out of it like hatching out of an egg. Which means that just the inside returned to cellular form... No! It's the other way around!! Since only the surface degraded, it wasn't able to return to cellular form- and that's why it become a stone shell!'

He realised the key to his revival lies in a different, special kind of external source... He walk over to a cave full of bats. He's eyes widened at what he found.

It was clay pot and plate, utensil and cloth. But also Nitric Acid.. he observed the abandoned clay pot and plate. 'that person.. they must have stayed here..' he thought as he walked over to the dripping liquid he deem as Nitric Acid.

From the back of his head, there is a patch of stone still stuck to his head. He pulled some out to test his theory. Load and behold, the stone on his hair crack and reveal his hair like the stone was never even there. The hair fall to the ground as his eyes followed. He was smirking with a frown on his brows. Suddenly he saw a few thread of crimson red hair, or so he assumed. He immediately knows who it belongs to.

'that can only belong to one person and one person only.. so it was you.. Higanbana..' he chuckled as he picked up the red thread.

-Time skip-

Senku tried many experiments but just Nitric Acid won't work to become the revival fluid. He tried and tried but all he got was failed attempts, he didn't give up though. Because a true scientist never give up on their research.

'thats it! I've figured it out. 3700 years! That whole time I was still fully conscious! The brain burns about 400calories a day. Over 3700 years, that comes out to over 2 trillion joules of energy! Where was that energy coming from?!'

He thought again.

'E=mc² that's the foundation of science that Einstein lead us to. Energy can never be created from nothing!'

Knowing this, he continues on his experiments every single day, week and months.

'just believe and keep experimenting, experimenting, experimenting, experimenting, experimenting, experimenting, experimenting, experimenting, experimenting, experimenting...

And don't forget.. no matter how much this petrification seems like fantasy.. a scientific foundation is the one thing that will never falter!'

With that in mind, he carry Taiju stone body inside the cave in hope that the Nitric Acid would be enough to slowly break him out of the stone..

And exactly sixth month after he was revived. He was met with Taiju who finally woke up from his petrification.

"Kukuku.. so you finally woke up eh? You big oaf.." Senku chuckled. He brings Taiju back to his tree house, he suddenly saw a glimpse of red in the distance it reminds him of that red thread he found in the cave. Somewhere in the direction of where he first woke up. The two walk over slowly as they were meet with a girl that look about their age and has crimson bright red hair.

The girl turn around as Senku saw her ocean blue eyes that seem to hold an entire ocean. He was mesmerize just by looking at her eyes, in that instant.. he knew.. he knew exactly who this person In front of him was.

"Higan.." he said almost in a whisper as he's eyes softened. 'it really was her.. she put those flowers crown on us.. looking at her hands, she was holding more flower crown. Probably to replace the wilted ones.' He smirked as Taiju mistaken her as someone else entirely.

"No you big oaf, that is Higan.." Senku said as he clicked his tongue. Taiju eyes widened even more as he held a surprise expression. "She's Higan Chan?!" He said loudly as he ran over to the red haired girl and stare all over her.

"Hello Taiju, I'm glad you're okay.." the girl give Taiju her signature soft smile as Senku looked at their interaction, Taiju instantly knew after he saw that smile. "Woah! Higan! It's really you!!" He tried to hug the girl but was pulled away by Senku. "Don't hug her while your naked! You big oaf.." Senku sighed as he barely man manage to hold Taiju. Senku slick his hair with one arm as he smirked.

"So your the one that put the flower crown on us.. Higan.."
