Ch. 6 - An Unknown Powerpuff?

- With Blossom and Otto

When Blossom and Otto got to the next memory, they were back in Dexter's laboratory but there was lots of rubble and destroyed machinery around the place. "What are we doing back in the lab? What's going on? Who...?" Blossom asks.

"This time I will finally destroy your laboratory, Dexter. I will not leave this night until I have finally incinerated all of your inventions and prove to the world that I, Mandark, am the greatest scientific genius of all... Ha Ha Ha Hahahaha!" Mandark laughs evilly.

"Bring it on, Mandark!" Dexter shouts.

"That is Mandark, Dexter's arch-rival and nemesis. They have both been at it for a long time now trying to prove which of them is the greater genius. Mandark has long wanted to destroy Dexter's laboratory and this I believe is his final assault. Dexter on the other hand is making his last stand." Otto explained.

"Jackbots Attack!" Mandark commanded as the robots started to shoot at Dexter. "Yeah? You want some of this?" Dexter says as he shoots back with her blaster. Unbeknownst to them Deedee walked into the laboratory.

"Dexter? Dexter, where are you?" Deedee asked as she looked around. "Is that all you've got?" Dexter mocks not paying attention to his sister and not noticing a robot getting ready to shoot him but Deedee does. Just as it fired, Deedee rushes towards her brother.

"Dexter! Look out!" When Deedee blocks Dexter, she gets shot in the side. "Deedee!" Dexter shouts.

Blossom's hands covers her mouth in shock as her eyes start to water.

Mandark looked at the scene in front of him in shock. "Deedee..." Dexter says as his sister bleeds out and she groans in pain. "No... What have I done..." Mandark says. "Jackbots retreat!"

"Deedee, hold on! Please, hold on!" Dexter held his sister's hand tightly. "Computer! I need medicbots! Now! Computer!" Unknown to him, Computer was sadly destroyed during the fight.

"I need medic..." Dexter muttered and tears began to come down his face. "Deedee, you stupid sister..."

Blossom also had tears coming down her face as she watched Dexter hug his sister close and she hugs Otto.

"Dexter never told his parents about his secret laboratory, but after what happened to Deedee he knew he had to tell them one way or another." Otto explained.

Deedee looked at her brother in sadness as the Grim Reaper stood beside her. "Goodbye, Dexter... I love you." She said even though he couldn't hear her and Grim puts a hand on her shoulder. "Come, child. It is time."

Otto and Blossom were now at Deedee's funeral. "Fortunately for Dexter his parents are very loving and understanding, and they, too, share his grief. Now knowing they have lost their only daughter, they can only give as much love and comfort as possible to their now one and only child." Otto states.

"And he used to think having a sister was bad enough, but losing her was much worse. Bubbles... Brielle... Buttercup." Blossom says as she thought about her sisters and turned to the boy. "You could have saved her, Otto. Why didn't you? You told me that as a time traveler it was your duty to enforce the past in order to protect our future!"

"I protect the world's future, Blossom. This is Dexter we're talking about. I'm sorry, but it's not my place. It's also my duty not to interfere with personal matters. Besides, you and I both know Deedee would never allow it. Please understand." Otto explained. "We have the power to change things for the better... yet we can't even do anything. It's just not fair." Blossom says.
