POV of Will Cipher

My heart started to sink. I tried yelling for help, but the only thing that came out was muffled whispering. My arms and thighs were aching from the spikes digging into my skin. I tilted my to the side and lightly nuzzled my shoulder. I wish they were here...I need them...I sighed quietly. They probably didn't need me. They're probably happier without me. My mum always said I was nothing but a disappointment before she abandoned us. Sometimes my brothers would blame me for her leaving us, then they would lock me in my room with the lights cut off. It was cruel, but I deserve it...I deserve all of this torment.

I started to whimper slightly. "I-I...I'll never...m-make them...p-proud of m-me..." I started to tug on the leather straps, but that just caused the spikes to fully cut through my legs. Maybe Mason will come...I began to smile. The hug he gave me earlier...It made me feel so...safe and loved...and the passion in it wasn't fake, it was real. He meant it. "M-Mason..." I slowly spat out. Maybe there was hope for me finding somebody, after all!
