Movie Night

I get up from the couch and say my goodbyes to Ryan and Wyatt. I then follow River through the house until we reach the front door. I reach for the door knob at the same time as River does and our hands touch. My cheeks turn red and my heart races, I quickly pull it away and quickly said, "Sorry!" River looks at me and smirks, "for what?" I was caught off guard with this response and was going to say something but before I could River says, "Let's get you home y/n." I smile and nod in agreement.

River opens the door and I walk outside and he follows behind me. It's darker out than I expected, I'm glad River insisted to walk me home. We start walking back to my house and we make some small talk with one another. "I'm sorry that you went through a bad break-up. I know it's fresh but if you need someone to talk to or need a shoulder to cry on I'm here for you." River said kindly." I smile at the ground, "Thank you River, I appreciate that." We get outside my home and he tells me to have a goodnight and goes in for a hug. His arms wrap around my shoulders and mine around his waist. This is nice. I can hear his heart beat which was calm and steady and his arms were just the perfect amount of tightness around me. He pulls away, "There goes zone out girl again!" he said. "Shut up, am not!" I laughed. He chuckled, "See you tomorrow y/n?" I smiled, "See you tomorrow, River." I start walking up to my front door. "Hey, wait! Let me give you my number so you can text or call me after you get off of work." I turned back to him and gave him my phone to put his number in and he gave me his to put in mine. He hands me my phone back and I gave him his, "If you need someone to talk to tonight you can always text me tonight." He said. My heart races and I reply, "same to you.. I'll see you tomorrow." I take off his jacket he let me wear earlier and give it back to him. "Thank you for letting me borrow your jacket." He smiled, "anytime." I turned around and opened the door and walked inside the house. I leaned against the front door. Ding ding ding. I looked at my phone to see I received a text from River.

River: Hey, is this too soon to text you?

I smile at my phone and was about to respond when I hear a voice. "Hi Sweetie, what are you smiling about?" asked my mom. I quickly look away from my phone and said, "Oh nothing, just a funny meme." I don't think my mom bought that but she said, "Okay, well your dad and I decided to take an impromptu trip to the lake this weekend. We will still be here when you leave for work in the morning and we will be back on Sunday night." I nodded, "That sounds good, I'll be sure to throw the biggest rager ever!" My mom laughed as she knows I'm not the type of girl to throw a party when her parents aren't home. "Okay, sweetie. Have a nice night. I love you." I smiled and walked to my room, "Love you too, mom." I got undressed and took a quick shower before I headed to bed. As I was laying in bed I remembered that I never texted River back. I quickly grabbed my phone and contemplated what to text him.

Y/n: Hey River, sorry for the delay. I'm glad you texted :)

River: No worries, I thought maybe it was too soon..

Y/n: Not at all. This is probably crazy sounding and I know I just met you yesterday but I have really enjoyed your company and I'm glad I bumped into you lol

River: I don't think that's crazy. I really enjoy your company too :)

Y/n: Good, I'm glad

River: What are you up to?

Y/n: I just got into bed and I'm just watching some tv before I go to sleep. What about you?

River: I'm just doing some editing

Y/n: Editing?

River: Oh yeah, I guess we never talked about what we do. We have a YouTube channel called Twin Paranormal where we do paranormal investigations

Y/n: Do you really? I think that's pretty cool! Have you ever heard of Sam and Colby?

River: Yeah, we do. I'm glad you don't think it's weird. Yeah, I know of them. We've been wanting to do a collab with them someday

Y/n: I could never, I definitely believe in the paranormal and have experienced some things. That would be cool, I'd watch that video

River: One day you will have to tell me about your experiences

Y/n: Haha okay! I should go to bed. I'll text you tomorrow/ see you tomorrow?

River: Sounds like a plan. Good night y/n

I put down my phone and drift off thinking about those blue eyes...

Friday morning

BEEP..BEEP..BEEP! I wake up groaning and shut off my alarm. I lay in bed for a minute thinking about River and I smile to myself. I grab my phone and saw I got a text from him..

River: Good morning pretty lady. I hope you have a good day. We will see you after work. We were thinking 7pm?

I smiled at the text he sent me. "He called me pretty lady" I said to myself. I wonder if he meant that or not. I got up and went to my bathroom and got ready for the day. I went downstairs and greeted my parents. They had their suitcases already packed and set aside by the front door. I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat at the kitchen table. "Honey, did you pack the sunscreen?" My mom yelled to my dad. "Yes, honey!" he replied. I giggled to myself. "What's so funny, sweetie?" my mom asked me. "Oh! Nothing, I just think you guys are cute." She laughed at my statement. "What are you plans this weekend?" she asked. "Uh, I'm not sure. Maybe watch some movies, nothing too crazy." She smiled, "Have fun with that. Shouldn't you be getting to work?" I looked at the clock and shot up quickly, " Oh no, I'm late. Have fun on the getaway mom and dad. I love you both! Bye!" I ran out the door and got into my car and left for work.

After work

I got home from work and got myself inside the house. I have been texting River throughout the day. I'm excited to see him and the guys tonight. I look at the time, 5pm. I should start getting ready. I take a shower and dry my hair. I decide to wear my hair up in a messy bun, a black t-shirt, black sweatpants, and my vans. I contemplate if this is too casual but we are watching movies so I don't want to dress up either. The time says 6:40pm. I'll just text River real quick and let him know I was leaving in a few minutes. I grab a jacket in case I get cold again learning from my mistake last night.

I open my front door and lock it. As I turned around I see River walking up the driveway and I smile. "Hey, what are you doing here?" He smiled back at me, "I figured you were going to walk and I wanted to make sure you got over to the house safely." How sweet of him.. "Aw thanks, that's sweet. Let's get going." I nodded and we started walking to his parents home and we made it there safely.

We walk through the door and I hear talking in the kitchen. "Hey, mom and dad I'm back." We approach the kitchen and I see his parents unpacking. "I'd like you to meet y/n, this is the girl we told you about that we met at the park." I shake their hands, "it's nice to meet you both, you have a lovely home." His mom smiles at me, "thank you, dear. It's nice to meet you." His dad shook my hand and said, "nice to meet you, it's about time River brought a girl home!" My cheek instantly turned red. "Dad! We are just friends!" His dad laughed, "okay, son. You guys have fun."

We head downstairs to their movie room and River apologizes for his dads comment. We got downstairs and Ryan and Wyatt were laughing throwing popcorn at each other. They saw us walking towards them and waved, I waved back to them.

"Hi, y/n! Glad you could make it tonight." Said Wyatt. I smile, "Me too! What movie should we watch?" Ryan grabs the remote and tosses it to me. "You're the guest, you can pick!" He said. I catch the remote. "Well what do you guys like watching? Comedy? Action? Horror?" I asked. "HORROR!!" They all yelled in unison. I giggled at them, "Okay, okay, okay!" I scrolled through Netflix and went with a classic Scream. Ryan was sitting in an armchair, Wyatt on one side of couch, River in the middle, & myself on the other end.
