The Ineffable Son

Chapter 18

Crowley turns to Sirius and Remus.

"Will you tell them everything while Aziraphale and I take care of this." They nod and leave the room with the rest of the adults. Crowley turns to Hadrian and with the help of Aziraphale they get him to sit down.

"Hadrian dear." Aziraphale says softly. Crowley reaches up and takes off the pair of glasses that he let Hadrian wear. Glassy green eyes meet blue and yellow.

"Papa I was so scared."

"Oh Hadrian." Aziraphale pulls him to a hug being mindful of the wings and halo.Hadrian shutters and the tears begin to fall. Crowley gets up and rips his own glasses off. His eyes are blazing with anger as he begins hissing.

"I'm going to find that bassstard and  I will make him pay." Crowley's wings unfurl from his back. As he continues to hiss up a storm,and more hissing fills the room as Lumi slithers in angrily.

'Hatchling why didn't you take me with you.'

'I didn't want you hurt Lumi.' Lumi coils around Hadrian.

'I am here to protect you. You are my massster.'

"She is right snakeling she is here to protect you. You have a bond with her keep her close." Crowley says as he begins to calm down. They notice Hadrian is still shaking slightly and still has a tight grip on Aziraphale's coat.

"Hadrian he's gone. He can't hurt you." Crowley sits by the pair as Aziraphale continues to comfort him.

"Do you remember when you first met the Archangel Micheal, Snakeling?"
Hadrian looks up at his father and nods.

*FlashBack*
It was a few weeks after Hadrian's run ins with Gabriel and Hastur when an unexpected visitor pops up. Hadrian is sitting at Aziraphale's desk reading a book when he hears the bell go off. Aziraphale pokes his head from around a shelf and goes to great the customer.

"Hello welco- Micheal!?" Crowley hears this from the back of the shop. He throws the books he had in his hands and walks to the front. He spots Micheal and notices where Hadrian is. He makes his way in between the two acting like a barrier. Micheal eyes him with disgust then notices Hadrian behind Crowley.
They notice the serpent eyes and then the same blonde color as Aziraphale on the child.

"So it's true you and the demon have adopted
a human child." Aziraphale makes his way to the front and puts himself between Micheal and Crowley.

"Yes. We have already dealt with Gabriel and Hastur. So why are you here."

"Why I came to see if the rumor was true.Heaven and Hell have all gotten word about the child." Aziraphale and Crowley both tense up with that sentence.

"Well you have ssseen him now get out." Crowley hisses. Hadrian sets his book down and gets up from his chair. He makes his way to Aziraphale and grabs the back of his coat as he peers around to look at the archangel.
Crowley moves closer so Hadrian is still between them. Micheal looks down at the child in disdain.

"He isn't anything special so why waste time to adopt a human child and with a demon no less"
Hadrian cringes and hides behind Aziraphale. Aziraphale looks at Micheal with a dead stare and points towards the door.

"If you have come here to insult my child then you can leave.There's the door." Hadrian pokes his head back around Aziraphale and points towards the door to.

"There's the door bitch." Aziraphale looks down at Hadrian in shock as Crowley's laughter fills the bookshop. Micheal sends a nasty glare to the trio and disappears.

*Flashback ends*

"Papa was so mad at you for laughing and teaching me to cuss."

"Well I had to teach you something bad.It's in my nature." Aziraphale reaches over and smacks the back of Crowley's head.
