Atlas drove home, relieved to find that his siblings were not there.
He quickly entered his room and called his personal doctor.
Given by the Underground his personal doctor because there was an opportunity that shot Atlas. He didn't think that his personal doctor would become his friend.
“I have a problem,” he began with his doctor.
“I'm a doctor, Atlas. I'm not running from people with problems.”
"Gano’n na nga!" he shouted as he threw himself onto the bed.
He squeezed his eyes tightly shut. Even now, he still felt the strange sensations in his chest — in his heart.
He was scared of his feelings because he had never felt them before. It was strange, like he was nervous but not really, and his heart was beating strongly too.
"You are my doctor and I need you here now!" he demanded.
He squeezed his eyes shut tightly.
He breathed, trying to calm his throbbing heart inside his ribcage.
"Okay, coming, boss."
He rolled his eyes as he hung up the call.
While he waited for his doctor, the only thing he did was stare at the wall as if the answer to his questions was there.
The air con was on, but he was sweating and nervous.
This is not right!
He only felt it when they were almost inches away from Race, and that's where he couldn't explain what he was feeling.
This is Race's fault! He poisoned me! He poisoned my fucking heart! Maybe he did some incantation?
Because he was annoyed at how long his doctor was, he stood up and went to his computer to research what he was feeling now.
But he was surprised by what he read.
A sickness he couldn't accept. All the feelings he had were in the sickness he read.
He sat down on his bed, staring into space.
What he felt now had nothing to do with Race.
"Hey, boss,"
He snapped his head to his doctor.
"Rile," Atlas sighed deeply. He was scared that he might really have an illness. "I have a heart disease."
His doctor stared at him. He stared and looked away, with his fist in his mouth, trying to suppress a smile.
"What?! I'm fucking serious, Rile!" Atlas exploded. He stood up and approached Rile, who stopped himself from laughing. "I researched it! It's on Google! I researched because this feeling I have, and all the feelings I have are symptoms of heart disease!”
Atlas suddenly fell silent and closed his eyes tightly. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.
"No stress, Atlas. No stress allowed. You'll get a heart attack if you stress out. Relax..." he whispered to himself.
"Relax...don't stress out. Don't shout, you'll get a heart attack..." His chest heaved, his hand rising and falling with his deep breaths.
"What the fuck are you doing, Atlas?" Rile asked in amazement, almost laughing.
"I have a heart disease, Rile! I'm going to die! I'm going to die young and I won't see my children!" he exclaimed, shaking Rile, then trying to calm his breath again.
