CHAPTER TWO: THE FIRST DAY

3rd person (akari's) pov!

"anthonny, i'm scared." akari clutched her twin brother's arm.

"shut up, you'll be perfectly fine, akari. you're such a social butterfly, you'll make friends in no time. plus, all the people from kazuha's group chat are here. kuanjui, woonggi, seowon, jisung, beomgyu, haruto, sunoo, jungwon... you'll be fine, they all love you already." anthonny patted his sister's head, smiling. she was always so active and confident online, but offline, she was just an introvert. 

despite her brother's words, akari was still frantic, trying to calm herself down. looking down at her outfit, she started panicking again. "should i not have worn a tie? is my skirt too long? oh my god, why did i wear a pleated skirt? i thought i was supposed to wear a checkered-" anthonny smacked akari on the head with one of his notebooks. "for god's sake akari, calm down and stop being anxious. you look fine." 

before she could continue to rant, a group of kids ran over to the iinuma siblings, greeting them cheerily. akari immediately hugged her childhood best friend - nakamura kazuha. "it's been so long, kazuha! and it's so nice to meet all of you in person. i'm akari," she rattled on, hurriedly straightening her skirt. 

one of the shorter boys immediately laughed. "hi, akari. i'm woonggi, and i'm a fashion major. stop worrying, you look amazing. you have better fashion sense than kim taerae, for god's sake." the mention of taerae's name caused the entire group to burst into laughter once again. akari, who was slightly confused by this new name, nudged her brother. 

"who's taerae?" she mouthed, not wanting to interrupt the others' conversations. anthonny simply pointed at another friendgroup, which was just a dozen metres away from them. she recognised one of them - sung haerin, a girl who had popped up on her instagram homepage tens of times. "hey, that's sung haerin, isn't it," she asked anthonny. at that same moment, another girl from the group noticed her and smiled at her.

she's so pretty, akari thought. her phone dinged with a notification.
