"What do you want to ask me?"I winced. What was he doing here? Well I mean it was obvious that he'd be coming to get his brother at some point. But why now? I hadn't had enough time to convince Mika that he didn't need to teach me and that we could leave. "Nothing!" I quickly answered. I actually hoped he'd be arrogant. Then I'd at least have a reason to say I don't need the help but he sounded nice. And now I was kinda afraid to ask him since the answer could actually be yes. But then on the other hand if he said no it'd be even more embarrassing. Urgh, I didn't know what to do to prevent this. But before I could give it any more thought Mika started talking. "We actually wanted to ask you to give Y/N here a fews tips on how to set better." Mika smiled her perfect Mika -smile while I was dying of shame. Osamu and I just watched my non-existent opinion that Atsumu had of me shatter into pieces while Mika happily continued. "You know, our coach always yells at her for not setting 'perfectly' and I'd like her to get another opinion from another setter who's way better at setting than our coach." "And you thought about me?" Atsumu asked. "No joke, Tsumu... of course, Mika thought about you. Do you think the would walk to another school and ask their setter?" Osamu answered sarcastically. Tsss, just 10 minutes ago he thought I wanted to confess to his brother or some shit. "Well yeah, I had you in mind. Since one, you're the best youngster setter in japan and two, somehow you go to our school." She grinned. "Mika, you know... I'm not that good at explaining things... and not much of a trainer..." Oh boy, here we go... Before he could say another sentence I butted in: "Hey, sorry Miya, don't worry about it anymore. My best friend here had a genius idea but I will survive without any extra training. So please forget this and I'm sorry for disturbing you." I finished without taking a breath in-between. Then I took Mika's arm and ran continuing to drag her along.
I'm sure I left them confused as fuck but in all honesty Mika's was great indeed but I was just too scared for some reason. I thought she might be mad at me but while I was running Mika who I was pulling along just started laughing after a while. "Y/N, oh my fucking god. I love you." "HUH." I stopped abruptly. "What do you mean? I just ruined all your efforts..." "You never fail to make me laugh." "Okay, okay I am funny. I know but I'm also kinda sorry." "Hey Y/N, don't worry. I kinda expected you to feel embarrassed." "Then why did you-?" "You will see tomorrow. I think I got him far enough. Osamu is probably gonna be of great help. He pities you too much to not convince his brother. He is a real softie you know." Mika explained her great thoughts. "But he just looked confused and annoyed while you were talking about my problems?" "Don't worry, that's his resting bitch face." She smiled proudly. So she basically manipulated him to convince his brother to help me? "So you basically tricked him?" "Nah, it was just good luck that he was there alone, so I told him about this in case Atsumu didn't feel up to the task. As expected, he didn't. Did you know although he's really confident about his skills and often gets annoyed when people ask him to set differently, he has no idea to how to actually explain what he is doing." Mika laughed. Now I was the confused one. "Then why did I ruin my reputation for nothing? If he is not good at explaining how is he supposed to help me? I could've just watched from afar...?" "I think, he might get the hang of it. I'm sure if you do something wrong he will notice what's wrong and correct it. And if not then I don't know... we might actually have to go to another school to kidnap their setter." She shrugged and smiled softly again. "Oh Mika... did you stalk him or something? Again I could've just watched him. It is enough to learn and copy how he reacts in certain situations." I countered worriedly. "No, I just watched him and studied him. I had the idea for a while now. So I was trying to find out if he was actually able to teach you. Did you know he's actually really good at maths?" "Huh? Him? How did you find out? You guys are not even in the same class." At this point you could really think she stalked him for a few weeks. "Oh I saw him when I was in the library studying. He was trying to explain the solution for a math problem to a few girls in his class. He was actually doing a really good job. Not at explaining itself but correcting them. But I guess they were more interested in him than the problem." She snickered. I had to laugh a little as well. "Mika, you're the best. I am so thankful for you." "I love you too, honey but you can thank me tomorrow when he dramatically walks in while correcting something you did wrong..." We both laughed.
Mika and I parted ways when we arrived at my home. I didn't know what I should expect of tomorrow...
Meanwhile on Atsumu's and Osamu's way home:
"Samu, who was the girl beside Mika? I've never really seen her around." "Mika said her name was Y/N I think and from what I understood she is the setter for the girls' team. I've seen her around though. Quite often at that." Osamu was bit confused as to why his brother had never noticed her but he continued: "She comes to my class quite often to spend her breaks with Mika." "Hmmm, well we are not together in one class, so I don't know when I should see her." Silence set in after he had finished his sentence. They walked further towards their home.
"Atsumu, will you give her a few tips?" He looked up. "Why though? I don't even know her. Why should I care about ones problems when I've never spoken to them." "Just.. hmm I don't know. I feel bad for her." "You pity her? Really?" "Yeah kinda." "But she didn't want me to teach her though? I mean she apologized for disturbing us and then ran away." "She might have been embarrassed and scared you'd say no." "I was going to though. I'm honestly really awful at explaining." "Can we like I don't know, watch them tomorrow? We are free. Coach is not there." "To do what? See if Mika told us the truth about their coach? I doubt she lied." Atsumu said perplexed. "Nah to watch Y/N." "And then?" "I Don't know you could see if she's really THAT bad or if just needs a little confidence." "And then?" "Oh Tsumu, you know exactly what I want. Please just come watch them with me. Once. Just once. I promise." "Samu, you are too fucking soft. Did Mika bribe you or something?" "HUH, NAH YOU ARE JUST TOO DISTANT." "I AM RESERVED." "SAME THING!"
The bickering went on for a while...
