Tuesday
The next day in class I sprinted out again as soon as the bell rang. "Y/N, no Running!" My teacher shouted. "Sorry, Sir!" But I didn't stop.
Mika and I didn't get to go to school together today due to me needing to bring my brother to school."Mika!" Mika shrieked. I surprised her. But as soon as she saw my face she started smirking. "Is it what I think it is?" "Yep." I nodded excitedly. I was freaking lucky that he changed his mind. "How was it?" No Osamu in sight and Suna was sleeping soundly. "Absolutely amazing. I learned so much." "That's fantastic, Y/N! Tell me everything!" I explained everything in detail, I just left out his name because there were a few stupid girls in Mika's class.
"You guys talked afterwards?" She smirked even wider. "Stop. That was a friendly get to know each other chat." "And he gave you his number!" "Stawwwwwp." "And he told you to call him by his first name." "Mikaaaaaaaaaa. I don't want to make things awkward between us. Ok? Happy if he even sees me as a friend and I'm so glad he changed his mind." "Okay, okay." "Can we watch their practice today maybeeee? Together?" I sheepishly asked. "Oh honey, of course."Later, Coach still wasn't there but I was playing my best game. My teammates were impressed.
Emi even asked me later in the changing room if was doping or some kind of shit. "Girl, you changed overnight like I changed in 2 years. I'm impressed." "I was given a few tips." I whispered. She was surprised. "By who?" "Atsumu." I looked at her. "Should I pick up your jaw?" "Y/N, w h a t? That arrogant ass?" "He's really sweet, he just seems arrogant on the outside!" I promised. Emi laughed at my comment. "Oh god. Just don't tell Yoko. She will go feral!" Emi laughed. "I'm not that crazy, Emi. I don't have a death wish." We giggled together. "You know, Y/N, my boyfriend has his first match this year on the weekend, I'll be going. Wanna come with me? I'll ask Mika, Aia, and Ran as Well." "Sure thing, when is that? I gotta look at my schedule because I normally work on weekends." "I know, girl. It's pretty early in the morning. We would love to go to the restaurant you work at later that day if that's okay with you?" "Great! That suits my schedule." I had plans for the weekend great! "Uhm Emi, can I maybe bring-" "No Miya!" I laughed. "Noooo, my little brother. He loves basketball." "Omg, sweetie yes please, he is the cutest thing. I haven't seen him in forever." I smiled. "Great. Thanks." Emi was a real sweetheart.I waited for Mika since we had planned to slip into the guys' training. Arriving at the gym and going up to the stands we were surprised by Hiromi and Sayo who were already standing there. What were they doing here? Well, it was obvious but why? I hadn't seen them here before. Says me who's been here like once. I cautiously pulled Mika who hadn't seen them yet a few rows away. I didn't want any unnecessary questioning. As soon as Mika saw them she understood my intentions. I pulled out a notebook from my backpack again and started scribbling. I noted everything that I thought was important. Mika just sat with me and commented from time to time. "Wanna know what Suna pulled today?" By now, I knew Suna. I've heard that name way too often. "He was sleeping and the teacher called him to the whiteboard to answer a question. Osamu woke him up and told him what he was supposed to do and he just went up to the board, solved the problem, went back, and fell asleep again. I had a really hard time containing my laughter. Teach was not amused but he can't really do anything, Suna has the best grades in maths." She shrugged. I snickered. "That sounds a lot like him." "He's special."
Atsumu was doing his incredible float serves again. It was just so amazing. "You know you don't have to stare at him like he is some kind of god..." Mika teased me. "Oh shut up, his serves are just simply perfection." "Yeah, I know. Maybe you can ask him to teach you his float serve." "Will do once I establish a little bit of confidence." She just nodded. "Btw, are you coming with us on the weekend?" "Yep, taking Yu with me." "Aww, sweet. Missed the little one." Haaa, everybody loved my brother. Imagine being 9 and adored by your 17-year-old sister's friends. I wish. After training we sat outside on a wall and still talked about the most random stuff. We were talking of Mika's past crushes, how she knew every single person in this school, how I literally did not have a dad. In all honesty, my brother wasn't 100% my brother, he had a different dad. I didn't really care though, he was my brother either way. Let's say it that way, my mom liked to sleep around on vacation. But we both were 100% Japanese because Mom never left Japan. We didn't really have grandparents since they cut her off. But I loved my mom either way. She was incredibly hardworking and the most caring woman I knew. She always did her best to give my brother and me the best life possible. She had a high-paying job as a manager of a big company but that also meant she wasn't around 24/7. I was grateful for her.
"Hey Y/N, I saw you on the stands earlier." I heard the voice that was owned by the person who taught me many amazing things yesterday evening. "Hey Atsumu, yep I was there. It's called learning by watching." I smiled. "I've seen you there before. Like last Tuesday I think." "Oh yeah, that was the day we first wanted to ask you." Mika joined the conversation. "But it looks like we don't have to kidnap you anymore. Osamu and I already made plans." He looked scared. "Don't worry about it." I snickered. "You have nothing to fear. She wouldn't steal my precious teacher." He shook his head. "The irony..."
I was thinking now or never."Uhm Atsumu, that float serve of yours." "What about it?" "Could you maybe teach me how to do it?" I asked him shyly. "Sure! I hope you have some good aim and some good serving technique." He replied with an excited voice and shining eyes. He was intrigued, to say the least. "The best of the best!" Mika exclaimed. "Not that good, but I think it's not bad either." I truthfully stated. "We will see. Friday then?" "100%! I'm looking forward to it." "Me too, I hope you bring some of that expensive stuff as a treat. I'll be off then. See you tomorrow? On the stands?" He smiled. "I'll see, maybe I can get you stuff for tomorrow. See you!" We waved goodbye and he left to join his friends on their way home.
"Expensive stuff?" "Drugs."
Mika looked at me with a look that said "Seriously? 7 days ago you couldn't even look him in the eye..." "Hehe."Words: 1229
