Laila's POV:

FLASHBACk

"No, please, no," I said in between my sobs.

"You bitch you dare talk back to me!! HA!!  How dare you" said my nightmare while slapping me one more time.

"NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM AND DON'T SHOW YOUR FACE"

END OF FLASHBACK

I woke up with a pounding headache today after bawling my eyes out last night. Despite that, I have to get ready because my best friend Yoo-yung and I are going somewhere. She bought two tickets for a fan sign, but I'm not really into it. I was too lost in my thoughts to remember who would be there, but if she said I had to go, then I had to. I got dressed and put on... Oops!

Baby yoo: bitch we'll meet at the cafe near the university>

Small Timeskip

As I sat by the window, I suddenly noticed Yooyoo running towards the cafe. I couldn't help but laugh at her cuteness. When she came inside, she asked, "You're early, missy." I replied, "I know, I just woke up early and came outside before anyone else was awake, you know?" I said this with a hint of playfulness in my voice. Yooyoo tried to cheer me up, saying, "Aww! Don't worry, hun. Let's go then, hmm?" She said it happily as if she was going to adopt a puppy. I agreed.

"By the way, where are we going?" I asked.

"Oh, did I forget to tell you? We're going to a fan sign event for my favourite K-pop group, BTS! I'm so excited!" she exclaimed, jumping up and down. I couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm and nodded in agreement.

We hopped into her car, and she drove out of the parking lot.

Timeskip

When we arrived at the event, I noticed only 30 to 35 people were in attendance. Some were holding colourful banners and beautifully wrapped gifts, and a few had albums in their hands. I remember thinking that I wasn't the kind of person who would waste my entire day behind a celebrity or an idol for that. After parking the car, I asked my friend Yooyoo about everyone and why they were holding all those things. She laughed and replied, "Honey, these are for our idol." I was surprised by the level of excitement and dedication and decided to sit down on one of the chairs available. Suddenly, I started feeling uneasy, a mix of excitement and nervousness, but I ignored it, thinking it was just because of the small crowd.

THIRD PERSON POV

On the other side of the door, the BTS members were engulfed in a maelstrom of emotions. Each of them exchanged meaningful glances, recognizing the powerful surge of emotions as a sign of meeting their destined soulmate - the one they had been yearning for. It had been a long six years of anticipation, during which they had felt an unwavering need to safeguard their soulmate at any cost. Their connection had been established twelve years ago, but the realization of their soulmate bond had dawned upon them six years later. Despite their widespread fame, they had managed to keep their relationship a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few insiders. They had deliberately chosen to wait until they found their last soulmate before revealing their union to the world. Now, as they stood at the doorway, they grappled with the overwhelming notion that their soulmate might be waiting just beyond it. Nervous tension filled the room, leaving each member uncertain about what lay ahead.

"We'll enter and observe for anyone exhibiting peculiar behaviour," the leader declared, his voice betraying a mix of apprehension and determination.

The others nodded in agreement or murmured their assent. With a collective breath, they pushed open the door and stepped inside, fully prepared to confront whatever awaited them.

Laila's pov

When the door swung open, seven of the most strikingly handsome men I had ever laid eyes on strolled into the room. It may sound cliché, but I was genuinely left speechless as the cameras clicked away, capturing their every move.

A sudden, inexplicable urge washed over me, compelling me to approach them and pull them close. Then, one of the men, seated in the centre, began to speak. "Hello ARMY, thank you so much for joining us today. It's truly wonderful to be back here with all of you. Let's kick things off with the fan sign," he said with an endearing smile that revealed his charming dimples before settling back into his seat.

As the event commenced, their eyes scanned the crowd, seemingly searching for something or someone. To my surprise, their gaze eventually landed on me, and they all began to stare. I started to feel increasingly uncomfortable and shifted in my seat, realizing that I had become the object of their attention.

As the line of fans waiting to meet them grew longer, my nerves escalated, and I couldn't help but wonder what would happen next. While my friend, Yooyoo, was brimming with excitement, I couldn't summon the same enthusiasm. When it was finally our turn, I found myself reluctant to be there, but Yooyoo managed to persuade me to stay.

The person I was supposed to engage with had an enchanting, bunny-like smile that caused their eyes to become half visible. I reciprocated with a smile, only to swiftly mask my feelings with a cold expression. Despite my disappointment, the individual displayed no reaction and simply greeted me with a warm hello.

"Hello," he said, still smiling, and I just nodded in reply. The scene was filled with a sense of warmth as his friendly greeting met my silent acknowledgement.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't quite catch your name. Would you mind telling me?" asked the man with features that resembled a bunny, as he held the book given to me for autographs by Yooyoo. "My name is Laila," I replied, feeling a flutter of nerves as I cursed myself for the slight stutter. "Okay, Laila," he drawled slowly, his friendly tone tinged with a hint of teasing as he carefully wrote in the book before handing it back to me.

I stoically kept my icy composure and pushed ahead.

The person next in line exuded a bright, sunny smile. "Annyeonghaseyo, I'm your hope, you are my hope, I'm J-Hope," he said, grinning from ear to ear. Despite my inner thrill, I managed to maintain a neutral expression as I quietly took his autograph and moved on. The following individual wore a gummy smile from the start, causing my lips to twitch slightly upward. I quietly took his autograph, content even though he didn't say anything. Finally, the next person greeted me with a warm "Annyeonghaseyo," smiling and showing off his dimples. Despite my desire to touch them, I settled for nodding and receiving his autograph, feeling thrilled to have met him.

As I walked forward, I caught the gaze of a guy who was looking at me with a warm smile. I made a conscious effort not to let it affect me and reminded myself to stay strong.

Then, I encountered a strikingly handsome guy who introduced himself as "worldwide handsome Jin" and playfully blew me a kiss. I hurriedly asked for his autograph and continued on my way. The last person I met gave me a boxy smile and a smirk, but I remained composed and asked for his autograph as well. As I reached for the book, our fingers lightly brushed against each other, sending a jolt of electricity through my body. I felt a sudden burning sensation on my left arm, where I knew my soulmark was, but I chose to ignore it and swiftly pulled my hand away. I practically sprinted away from that place, with the thought "I don't deserve them" echoing in my mind.
