Bolt scribbled on a note hastily, blissfully unaware of the Vulpix standing behind him.
"What are you doing?" The voice made Bolt jump, hackles raised and fur spiked up in shock. His heart nearly leapt out of his yellow chest. He immediately turned around, his eyes resting on the figure that is Aida.
Meanwhile, the brown fox just tilted her head.
"Oh, haha, this?" He raised the note up, laughing sheepishly. "I-It's just a... list, yeah, a list! For... uh, berries I wanted to pick." Bolt smiled widely, quickly scuffling to his paws.
Aida's eye twitched. She could see right through his lying ruse, but decided not to pry any longer. If he was hiding it, then it must be a private manner. She shrugged, and walked off to another part of the house, leaving Bolt perplexed and still slightly shocked.
Bolt sighed in relief, his heart slowing down to its normal rate. He glanced around the house before going back to his note, now frantically stroking lines of words.
Suddenly, a loud crash followed by a yelp made Bolt jump yet again. This time, his ears swiveled towards the sound and he ran to it, seeing a cloud of dust fly around a part of the room, specifically the kitchen.
Once the dust cleared out, he saw Aida on the floor, her face scrunched up in agony. At first she looked fine, but as his eyes trailed down her body, he saw a deep gash on her flank, making his eyes widen.
Bolt quickly hurried to grab a cloth and wrap it around her flank, pressing his paws down on the wound and making Aida wince. "Are you okay?" He finally asked, looking over to the Vulpix's face. "Um, no," A hint of sarcasm was in her voice. Bolt sighed, but continued to press on the wound.
...
"What happened?" Bolt questioned, taking a seat on the couch and flattening a pillow. Aida glanced at him, before looking away. "I was just washing the knives," Her brows raised. "And as I was placing them back on the kitchen counter, one slipped and cut me." The Jolteon stared at her before nodding.
But as he turned away, a grimace took place on his mouth. I won't be able to leave with Aida in a condition like this, he thought. This is unbelievable.
Aida's gaze remained on Bolt for a little while more before she rolled over to one side and closed her eyes, in the intention of falling asleep...
...
A loud bang on a desk woke up a sleeping cop. "Ah! What in Arceu-" The Lucario yelped in surprise, before his eyes laid on a very frustrated looking Sylveon.
"Have you seen this Jolteon?" She held up a poster having a picture of Bolt in it, grinning like an idiot. The blue uniformed Pokémon's brows raised a bit. "...Let me have a look at that." He snatched it from Sylvie's pink paws and inspected the picture for a while.
The cop glanced at Sylvie swiftly before looking back down on the poster. He placed it on the desk and sighed, leaning back on the metal chair. "Uh, sorry miss," He cleared his throat. "I haven't seen that laid-back-looking guy anywhere. But you can paste it on the missing Pokémons board."
He gestures to a clipboard with a few posters of different Pokémon saying that they've gone missing. The sight made Sylvie even more infuriated. "Can't you ask your buddies to search the town, atleast? This Jolteon is very important to me." She requested in a rather sharp tone.
The Lucario sighed. "Miss, I've heard a lot of sob stories and its about time I stop listening to them," His voice took on a more stern one. "If the cops say they can't find 'em, they can't find 'em. Got it?" His eyes narrowed, and he sniffed.
Sylvie's mouth curled into a sour scowl. She leaned forward on the table, her snout almost meeting the cop's. "Do you really want me to sue you, Mr..." She muttered as she read the name tag on his blue uniform. "Hammins?"
The Lucario growled. "It's pronounced Ham-meens."
The fairy type leaned back, slightly easing the tension between them. "Well, is that a yes or a no?" She smiled, her fur slightly ruffling in anticipation of the cop's answer. The cop's eye twitched but he sighed, giving in to the civilian's request.
"Fine," He rolled his eyes. "But we're only scouting the forest within the two-mile radius, all right? So don't come whining to me if we don't find your beloved Jolteon."
