scaramouche was still deep in thought, wondering who exactly that magician was. his mind pondered, how could that brat effortlessly capture Y/N's attention in the span of a minute? and how dare he.

"kuni?"

his negative train of thought was broken by your voice, and he gave you a questioning look.

"are you okay?"

"i'm fine," he shrugged.

"if you want to take a break, we can go," you said, placing a hand on his.

currently, both of you were inside the opera house, waiting for lyney to go on stage after obtaining your front-row seats.

"like i said, i'm okay," he replied, a little less harsh because he didn't want to hurt your feelings or steal your attention as much as he wanted. all scaramouche wanted was for you to look at him and only him, but he wanted to respect your wishes to come and see lyney's performance instead. "just have fun."

you gave him a small kiss on the cheek, "i know this isn't exactly what you wanted to do considering your first impression of lyney, but thank you for humoring me."

"when have i not humored you," he snorted, but then pecked you on the lips. "but in all seriousness... i mean it."

"i appreciate it," you smiled. "oh? is that the traveler and paimon?"

both of you looked over, seeing the traveler and paimon walking over with a tall guy who had white hair. you recognized him immediately.

"traveler! paimon! hello," you waved.

"hi Y/N! and the balladeer, what are you doing here?"

"we're just visiting," you said. "i'm guessing you two are here because of furina, right?"

"yep! wait, you know her," paimon asked.

neuvillete chuckled, "how would Y/N not know her? after all, she's quite renowned here in fontaine."

"neuvillette!"

"greetings, Y/N. it's good to see you, especially outside of the courtroom."

you blushed, "hey, we agreed not to talk about that?"

"uhm... what exactly happened," paimon chirped.

scaramouche was curious too, exactly what i was thinking.

"this one here got her engineering team in trouble when working on the mekas," neuvillette chuckled.

"how was it our fault? the civilian literally walked inside DESPITE the caution tape we had!"

scaramouche laughed from next to you, "my my Y/N, i didn't know you were such a troublemaker."

"am not," you retorted. "why am i getting ganged-up on?!"

everyone laughed at your dismay until the announcer informed the audience that the performance was beginning. after taking your seats and getting ready for the performance, all of your eyes fell on lyney who was on stage.

"welcome, one and all, to the opera epiclese! i am the star of today's show, lyney! over here is my sister, lynette, who will be working as my wonderful assistant. please, let's give her a warm welcome!"

"hello, everyone."

"haha, i know she may seem to be a little sleepy right now, but that's just a sign that she's nervous."

"whatever."

"now, some of you may be thinking: two vision holders who can freely manipulate elemental powers performing magic is not true magic at all. so, i would like to take a moment to assure you that elemental powers will have nothing to do with what you will witness on the stage today. both lynette and myself have removed our visions for the show. that way, even the gods won't be able to help us. now, without further ado, let the show begin! lynette will now exit the stage to make some preparations. i know you might miss her, but don't worry, she'll be coming right back on stage momentarily... perhaps in an unexpected way. i'm sure she'll be stealing the spotlight soon enough. oh, and before i forget... there's one more thing i should say. you never know what can happen in the blink of an eye."
