I wonder, ponder, just think about what to do. Staring at her beautiful self, her dyed gray hair, and slender body. Her brown eyes, she bore the earbuds whilst listening to whatever that is she is listening to. I make sure to keep my staring as conspicuous as possible, I would only take a couple of glances here and there. Her short hair lay curled at her shoulders. Whilst I had stared at her stylish outfit. The black sweater with a golden stripe at the sleeves, and the lengthy necklace with a sapphire amulet at the center of it with bones stretching a bit from the amulet.
She would eventually catch my gaze. "What are you doing, Kevin?"
I stumbled back slightly, started. "I uh! I uh... Nothing, Eve!"
She would stare back in front of us. Where kids would be playing on the playground, she peered back at me, not too far from her. We sat on a bench in a local park, the kids playing would be the noises we heard in the background. Eve would hand me one of the earbuds.
"Wanna listen in?" She asked, casually.
I nodded and took the earbud. Listening to her music, she was playing some relaxing Lofi hip-hop music, and immediately I was sent into a world of my imagination. That of which would only contain Eve and me within it. The plethora of events that would transpire during our times. I would scoot closer to her during my relaxed state of mind.
In a sudden motion, I felt her head slowly falling on my shoulder. I stood in place, shocked by Eve leaning on me. I peered at her to only see her gray hair in my field of vision. The smell of roses would come from her hair.
I then felt the earbud being tugged out of my ear. I peered at Eve who was putting them away. Then stood up with a hand outstretched towards me.
"Uh... What's going on?" I inquired.
Eve smiled at me gleefully. "Take my hand, Kevin. Let's walk around for a bit."
I hesitantly took her hand, it was cold and trembled slightly, I made sure to apply a gentle pressure amongst me holding her hand. Though it remained everso smaller than my own. Not by much though. We proceed to walk around the park, the passersby would gossip amongst themselves about our status.
"Why are--"
"Do you remember when I got injured during my baseball game with the Lions?" Eve asked. She looked ahead of us at the blossoming trees, the leaves were green, life was coming back after the harsh winter. The gentle breeze would crash into our bodies, applying the cold elements to our warm bodies.
Recalling her game with the Lions: It was quite the match, a close game and all she needed to do was reach Homebase, but she had tripped and injured herself. Costing the entire game that they fought so hard for.
I nodded. "Yeah, I had to carry you back home because your father was still working and no one could take you home."
"Then I cried all over your shoulder," Eve chortled, "but thank you, Kevin-- for being there, that is."
A breeze came by, Eve shivered upon its arrival. I let go of her hand, took off my sweater, and placed it over her. Though I may only have a T-shirt left over after that, it's better with me freezing up to the breeze. A woman with an open umbrella held her hand over her mouth. She gave me a wink before walking past us. I didn't ponder too much about why she had done such a thing, not even thinking about who she could've been winking at besides us.
"Thank you." Eve pulled the sweater closer to her body, wearing it like a blanket. "I remember something like this too, you would always do this wherever we go. Whenever it was cold and you kept telling me to grab a jacket because it was going to rain, a snowstorm, cold, whatever it was. You still were willing to give me your jacket."
