I turned. It seemed as though my heartbeat had stopped. I stared into his eyes; they were as black as coal. He was a huge man, probably in his mid-fifties, with dark skin and bald head. His physique was strong. As I looked down I noticed the small ugly nozzle of the gun pointing directly at my heart, I felt a bit dizzy and suddenly realised that I had stopped breathing. I had seen this in many movies but the reality was much worse. The gun was small but I knew, a little twitch of the man's finger would be enough to send a bullet shattering through my heart.

His mouth twisted into an ugly grin as he looked over my shoulder and said

"You were right doc. She's here"

I took a deep breath, forcing myself not to panic. Turning around to look at the doctor, I gasped.

It was impossible, how could it be?

He dropped the file which he was reading and slowly got up, staring directly at me.

"Well, well, well, look who decided to finally show up! Now isn't this a nasty surprise!" he said in a familiar voice.

I couldn't believe it.

Was he really here?

How?

I stared at him. It looked as if he had aged ten years in matter of hours, his grizzled hair were in a mess, there were fine wrinkles underneath his eyes but there was no mistaking the tanned skin and the hooked nose...

The doctor, who was sitting in the basement reading a file...the one who was staring at me now...was none other than...

Dr. Dexter, Veronica's father!

"You?" I blurted, I couldn't believe what was going on!

"Surprised?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"What are you doing here?"

He looked around him as if this was the most obvious question I had asked and shrugged, saying "well...I work here"

"You're possessed, aren't you? Dr. Dawson has possessed you."

"You really think that? Is that what you believe?" he asked in a mocking tone, with an amused expression.

"Either that or you are Dr. Dawson!" I said accusingly.

He hung his head for a second, then looked up and said, "Believe me... I love your theory, c'mon, why don't you come in and take a seat? Tell me more about it"

I didn't respond, I felt as if I had walked into a nightmare. I stepped back instinctively and slammed into the bald guy who stood behind me.

Dexter smiled, then looked up to the man with serious eyes and said,

"Jacob, make her sit"

At once,

The bald man, Jacob, grabbed my shoulders and dragged me inside the room. There was no way out. I screamed, stepped on his foot and brought up my hand slamming my elbow in this stomach. I was ready to do anything to get as far away from this house as possible. He didn't even wince, instead before I could do anything else he pulled out his gun, pointing directly at my head till I was forced to calm down!

Another man stepped out of the shadows. He might have been there all along, hidden in the dark, but he stepped out slowly, and both of them grabbed my arm and pulled me into the room, forcing me to sit down on the chair facing Dexter!

The moment I sat, the other guy, with blonde hair and red glasses, brought out a large set of ropes and within minutes I was securely tied to the chair. My feet were tied together and my hands were pinned behind my back, making me completely unable to move.
