Chapter 1

Daughter of the Priest

First Person Pov

I was walking along the sidewalk to my father's church. He was currently in a meeting with other high priests. As I approached the door, I knocked twice before I was met with a man in a cloak.

"Hi Athur, I just came to give my father this." I smiled before handing him an unknown book.

"Thank you, Y/n. Do you wish to come inside?"

"Sure, I don't mind." I shrugged as he opened the door.

"Alright, but just stay out of sight and don't make a sound."

I nodded and stood behind a pillar near Athur. I stared down at the group of priests whilst they discussed church matters. Though there was one man who stood out from the rest.

He had a silver ring with a blood stone on his finger. I saw his gaze fixated on me whilst the rest were in deep conversation. I quickly hid myself behind the pillar and cursed at myself.

I walked back to the exit and went out of the building. I took a few deep breaths before gazing up at the sky.

"There's a storm coming..." I muttered to myself whilst running back to my house.

...

My mother was busy taking our laundry off of the line as he hair blew into her face. She struggled to fold every piece of clothing, but I managed to make it in time.

"I am here, Mother. Let me help you."

I quickly grabbed clothes off of the line and folded them before placing them in the laundry basket.

"Thank you for helping me, Dear." My mother yelled through a loud, windy breeze.

"I am always here to help, Mother." I smiled before we ran into our house.

We closed the door and all the windows before plopping down on the soft sofa in our living room.

"So? Did you make it to your Father?" My mother questioned with a lifted brow.

"Yes, I did."

"That's good. Your Father is bringing a guest over tonight. He is sleeping here because his travel back to Transylvania is a bit too far."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes, his name is Mr. Vladimir Drakul. I expect you to treat him with hospitality."

"Of course, Mother."

"Good, now help me prepare dinner before they arrive." She smiled while gesturing for me to follow her.
