Chapter 27

Father's Arrival

Dracula and I sat in the living room while enjoying the silence. I laid my head on his lap whilst he caressed my hair. Everything seemed so perfect, so unbelievable, just the two of us in each other's presence. "What's on your mind, Dracula?" I whispered as he continued to stare at the fireplace. "About what the future holds." He replied before turning his gaze to me. "What if it all happened again? What if I lose you like I did before?"

"You won't lose me, Dracula." I sat up straight and made him look into my eyes. "And how do you know that? You are a Mortal." His entire facial expression changed into an angry look. He stared holes into my flesh as his eyes started to turn red. "Let me make you my equal." He whispered with a low growl. "I am not ready, Dracula."

"The day you'll be ready is the day you are dead. I will not allow it to happen again." My heart beat started to increase as anger rose in my chest. "You will not make a decision for me, Dracula. It's not yours to make." I replied before he grabbed me by my throat and pushed me down onto the sofa. "Though it is... Either you let me bite you, or I'll kill your father. It's your choice, Little Girl. You have until midnight to decide." He slowly let me go as I jumped up from the sofa and slapped him across the face. "I knew you'd never change. You'll always be a cruel and cold-hearted monster. You do not care about anyone else except your own needs."

"And you are still a disrespectful, selfish, foolish girl. All I've done is show you how much I love you, if you agreed to be my equal in the first place. All these things wouldn't have happened. Your mother would still be here, Van Helsing wouldn't be after us, and your father would have been a happy man to know that I am taking care of his daughter. Soon enough, you'll be my equal, and you will carry my child." He growled while standing up from the sofa. I remained silent as he stood right in front of me while staring down into my eyes. "You know I am right." He whispered in a low voice before the front door swung open.

My father walked into the building with two of Dracula's servants beside him. "Father!" I smiled as the three of them approached us. My father held me close in his arms as I started to cry in his shoulder. "Shhhh, it's alright, I am here now. Are you alright?" He gave me a soft smile with a questionable look. I was about to reply when I was cut off by Dracula. "She is just fine, Sir. I've taken good care of her." Dracula smiled while taking a few steps forward. "My Servants will show you to your room and dinner will be ready at 6:30 pm."

I gave my father a quick glance before Dracula's servants took him away. "Are you happy that I brought your father here?" Dracula questioned while standing beside me. "I am not in the mood to talk to you right now." I replied before walking off, but I was stopped in my tracks by his hand, grabbing me by the back off my neck. He turned me around to look into his eyes with gritted teeth. "I will not tolerate your ignorance. Don't make me punish you, Y/n. I will not make it easy for you. So why don't you go help your father settle in and meet me in my room at midnight."
