Chapter 10
Van Helsing
First Person Pov
I was walking beside the man into a building when I saw a familiar face. "Arthur?" I called out when he turned his gaze towards me. "Y/n? What are you doing here?" He had a shocked expression on his face with a slight smile. "I could ask you the same."
"Well, I work with Mr. Van Helsing." He smiled before pulling me into a hug.
"Oh..."
"Why are you here, Young Lady? Where are your parents?"
"They are gone, Arthur..." I whispered as tears started to burn in the back of my head.
"What?" He questioned before pulling back to stare into my eyes.
"Dracula killed them, Arthur."
"Dracula? But we killed him a long time ago. Didn't we, Van Helsing?" He asked with a shocked expression.
"Yes, we did, Arthur. Some kids thought it's funny to summon him again, and now he's back..."
"What did he do to you, Y/n?"
"He kidnapped me and tried taking me to Transylvania, but I took his ring." I whispered with a trembling voice before pulling out the ring from my pocket.
Van Helsing came closer before staring down at the ring in my hand. He had a satisfied smile before patting my shoulder. "Well done, Y/n. I will need to take that ring from you. It's called a 'Daylight Ring', it helps Dracula walk in the sun."
"I thought about that too. That's why I took it." I replied before handing it to him and wiping away my tears.
"Don't worry, Y/n. I am still here and I will look after you." Arthur smiled while holding me in his arms.
"Thank you, Arthur."
"Anytime, Y/n."
"Alright, enough with the family reunion. We have some serious business to discuss." Van Helsing interrupted before pulling out a scroll from under his desk.
"Y/n, This is very important." Van Helsing declared while opening the old scripture. "You've existed centuries ago in the 1400s, but you tragically died in the arms of your husband."
"What? I was married?" I questioned with a puzzled look on my face.
"Yes, you were married to Count Dracula. Before he turned into a vampire, He was a normal man married to a young and beautiful woman."
"I can't believe it... I don't remember anything about it..."
"I know, Y/n. You won't, but all we can do now is protect you. The Count is not the same man he used to be."
