Chapter 9: Escape

First Person Pov

The following day, I woke up with pounding headache and sore eyes. I truly have lost my parents, and all I can do now is... RUN.

I saw Dracula sleeping beside me, his chest rising and falling with his arms on his stomach like a corpse. I saw the ring on his finger before I felt realization hitting me with a big bang.

I sat up slowly and brought his hand closer to me. I examined his hand whilst his eyes remained shut. I slowly started taking the ring off of his finger without making a sound.

He was about to wake up when I jumped off of the bed. He sat up straight and rubbed his eyes before calling out my name.

"Y/n? Are you okay?" He asked before he stood up from the bed.

"Get away from me." I muttered while taking a few steps back.

"Y/n, just listen to me." He whispered before taking a few steps towards me.

"I SAID GET AWAY FROM ME!" I yelled before running to the window and pulling open the curtains.

He quickly retreated to the corner while hissing in pain. He held his face in his hands before I heard laughter erupting from his voice.

"You are such a foolish girl. You can run now, but I'll find you again at night..."

"You can try Dracula, but I will be ready, and I will put a stake through your heart."

"We'll have to see about that, Mrs. Dracula." He smiled with a half burnt face before transforming into a bat and flying out of the room.

I was relieved yet shocked at the sight. I opened the window and climbed down the wall before running down the road into the woods. I had to run on the dirt trail to get into town. It would be stupid to run alongside the road. People in carriages would think I am carzy. No one believes that vampires exist, so who would believe me?

I was halfway into town when I decided to take a break on one of the benches. I saw a man approaching me before he sat down beside me.

"Hello, can you please tell me where I am right now?"

"You are currently in Germany."

"Germany?"

"Yes, is your name Y/n L/n?" The man asked while his eyes were hidden under his top hat.

"Uhm... Yes. How did y-"

"Don't worry, just follow me. It's important."

"And how am I supposed to trust you?"

"You are running from Count Dracula, right? I am the only one who can help you."

"How did you know that?"

"I will explain everything to you, Y/n. Now come with me." He said while holding out his hand for me to take.

Dracula's Pov

"IGOR!" I yelled before Igor came running into the bathroom.

"Yes, Master?"

"She left and took my ring. I want you to cover up every window in this hotel room. You and I are going hunting tonight. I want you to take a message to my wives."

"Which is?"

"Tell them to meet us here tonight, we are going to go find Mrs. Dracula."

"Will do, Master."

"You should go now before it's dark."
