Get closer, though, and you start seeing the shadows underneath. The name of our town is Riverdale.

BETTY, KEVIN, AND AVERY sat in Bettys room as the blond got ready to meet up with her friend and secret crush, Archie Andrews.
"Are you excited? Nervous?" Kevin asked as he looked up from his phone.
Betty turned around and sighed. "Both. I haven't seen him all summer." She spoke with a huge smile plastered on her face.
"Did you guys both forget that I'm coming too?" Avery says sarcastically.
"No, Ave. We didn't forget, I just wanna make sure Betty knows that nerves are acceptable but we all agree, it's time." Kevin rolls his eyes. "Betty likes him and he likes her."
Betty instantly points her brush at Kevin. "Well, then why, Kevin, hasn't he ever said or done anything?"
Kevin sighs. "Because Archie's swell, but like most millennial straight guys, he needs to be told what he wants. So tell him, finally." He says as he stands up and piers through Bettys window.
"Betts, to be honest. I think it's been time. You need to tell him. Whether he likes you or not." Avery states.
"Wow, Ave. Great way to make me feel good." Betty puts down her makeup brush. "Anyway we'll see it depends-."
Suddenly Kevin exclaims. "Oh my god! Game-changer. Archie got hot! He's got abs now." Betty and Avery run up to the window to see what Kevin is talking about. "Six more reasons for you to take the ginger bull by the horns tonight."
"Kevin, I think if our mom heard you say that, you would stop being her favorite one of our friends." Avery says and Kevin chuckles.
"We should get dressed and get going." Betty adds.
Avery gives a small smile. "Okay but if Archie starts talking about football I'm leaving." She jokes.

Avery sat next to Betty in the booth at Pops. She had nothing against sitting with Archie, not at all. She just wanted to be there to support her when she tells Archie how's she feels.
"So Ave, what did you do this summer?" Archie asked.
Avery looked up from her hands. "Oh, Well, me and Jug went hung out a lot after you ditched him." She made sure to make a point about Archie blowing Jughead off.
Archie looks down and Betty kicks her heel. "Yeah, some stuff came up."
Betty glares at Avery for a moment and she sighs. "Don't worry, Arch. It's fine I'm not gonna hurt you, chill." Avery jokes.
Archie smiles softly.
Avery stands up quickly and smiles brightly. "Well, I'm gonna go ask Pop for more milkshakes, on me!" She exclaims.
