---27 Hours Later---
---Neutral Fire Incident---
---Captain Of Danish Cargo ship Nordvest Point Of View---
Opening my pocket watch, I find that we're making rather good time to Copenhagen, we're about 4 hours off the coast of the island and should arrive even sooner if the weather holds up. Walking away from the helm, and off onto one of many balconies, I look out to see Swedish Cargo ship SS Minna, loaded down with weapons that our nation needs desperately, having expected an attack by the Iron Blood's land army for a year now. We're under armed for a war, and have been stocking up as much as we could. Sweden has voiced, and showed all interest in supplying such a war, despite their announce Neutrality. Norway voiced the same intent, until ultimately having their minds swayed in favor of Iron blood leadership, after the British sank a neutral cargo ship without warning in our neutral waters that belong to them. No honest attempt to right said wrong was made by the British in a timely manner.
Which began to sway their public towards the Germans, who swooped on the opportunity to improve relations and make allies with them. I never truly felt that the British did such a thing purposely without justification. But I can only speculate such, as I was not there. Walking back into the captain's helm, I approach the windows on the other side, stopping, and admiring the second Swedish cargo ship SS Hispania, loaded down with more war time cargo. I then look to behind my ship at a ship that was arguably our nations most prized Cargo ship SS Otto Persen, she was one of it, not the largest Cargo ship in our nation's possession. As so, she was also the newest, and best equipped to handle more sensitive cargo, such as guncotton, and other flammable materials for our warships of which we have little, but enough to deter the Iron Blood for the moment of course. Finally, I look ahead, finding yet another of our nations Cargo ships SS Rita Mærsk, a ship that's relatively new, but hasn't seemed to be holding up well to the test of time. She's a bit of a problem child in our lineup of cargo ships this venture, but she's managed to work out her kinks during the voyage quite well given the limited resources she has on board. "Seems like the seas are rather calm for this time of year don't you think Captain?" My deck hand asks stepping into the room.
I turn to him with a rather pleased smile to the fact, it was well welcomed. "It is, it would seem that the weather will remain in our favor all the way to Copenhagen." only 300 Milliseconds pass after I'd completed my statement, when the radio began to go off, it was a transmission on Danish channels, from our navy's light cruiser Hekla. "Captain (Insert Name) The Royal navy have engaged Iron Blood vessels in neutral waters off the coast of Skagen earlier this morning. We are unsure of the number of vessels on either side, or the battles outcome. For your convoys protection, we'll be escorting you from your position into Copenhagen as to ensure your safety from either warring party." The Captain of Hekla announces, making it sound as though his war vessel will be joined by other war vessels in this escort job. Something that made me feel rather at ease. At first the news of war breaking in our waters was terrifying, but I know that we'll be safe with these escorts. Should anything to happen! They could no doubt bash back the forces. "Should I-" I nod to my deck hand, giving him the go ahead. He takes the radio and responds.
"This is Nordvest, we hear you loud and clear, awaiting escort!" It wasn't but around an hour later, that we would see Gejser, Hekla, and Hejmdal, all three sister ships to each other, Pre WWI light cruisers', along with a Coastal Defense warship, named Pederskram, arguably our most powerful warship at the time. Which filled everyone with utter joy! If something were to happen, we'd no doubt be fine with it around! Just around the time they began to form up around us in a screening motion. A large group of vessels approached over the north horizon. Interested in identifying the vessels as British or German, the man atop Hekla's conning tower, out of simple curiosity of who may have left as victor in the supposed battle. Begins to flash her yellow search light on the rear deck simply to gather a response of attention from the vessels. Shortly after her attempts, a flurry of bright flashes to bright to be returning search light flashes begin erupting from the vessels.
