One Final Time, I'd like to warn you of the way I write wars in stories like this one. It contains gore and descript details of one's suffrage and pain. Leave now if that's not for you. Thank you.
---Story Arc: The Three Front War---
---Battle Of Skagen---
---6 Days Later---
---U-37 Point Of View---
"*Gasps for air upon breaking the surface* We need to make a stand here!!! No one passes Skagen!! WE must focus our attention on the carrier's! and the Capital ships! Carriers pose the biggest threat! WE can't allow our Airforce to get bogged down by their crafts in the up coming battle!!! Stand your ground everyone!!" U-47 shouts amongst us as we surfaced, up to now, we've been fighting in a C pattern in front the British fleet, trying to pick them apart, we've managed to damage the Destroyer's screening the fleet, but not sink anyone! Our efforts to slow them down have been successful this far, they've been forced to forward in a Zig Zag approach to avoid any possible torpedo attacks. We've kept our distance just beyond their firing range of Hedgehog anti sub weapons. But now were reaching the coast of Denmark's most northern tip in the Baltics. Skagen, a point that we've been told will be the point of no return. Any chance to change the plan, or make changes to it will become impossible. We don't know how long Graf Zeppelin needs to make it to her intended port in Sweden's Baltic waters. But we must fight with the idea in mind that she may not have arrived there yet! But then, even if she has, it's out duty to stall for every precious second possible! A second of preparation back home, could decide the fait of this battle to come.
U-73, and U-410 show this utter look of terror at the idea of holding ground to such a MASSIVE fleet, we're Subs after all. Not battleships. One hit from even a light cruiser, could spell death for us. Then looking to U 110, you could see she was staring off into space at the enemy, not firing her weapon at all. Completely petrified by the sight of the enemy. Something that's been reoccurring all throughout the day as the fleet grows closer to our positions. "A-Are you sure?! M-Maybe we should fall back to-" 73 is interrupted by me, who's equally nervous, and scared, but yet despite it all I talk as though I am fearless.
"No, she's right our mission was to not only buy time, but to sink everything we could! We haven't sunk even one ship! Sure we slowed them down. But is that going to be enough!? Our entire NATION is at stake! The navy is all we have between the enemy nations preforming Land invasions! What if sinking one of these ships! Just one! is enough to change the course of the battle's end!? What if we flee now, and our contributions are for nothing!? I'd rather die trying to save what I love! Then abandon it to luck and fate!" I announce with determination to stand ground right beside 47. Everyone who had been terrified, and nervous, seems to slowly come around to the fact, yet the fear remains on their eyes, some lack reflection, some have tears building as they know their intended fate of they remain along side I and 47. The only thing that awaits us if we stand here, and fight to the end.
Is death... But if we fall back, and our efforts we're in vane... and the war is lost because of our cowardness We die... They must know that... It's better to die for what you love, then to die, because you abandoned it. U 556 shouts over everyone with authority. "Bismarck wouldn't run away from a fight like this! She stood her ground when out numbered and out gunned. She stood her ground all the way into certain death! She fought and was willing to die then and there for our nation! Why is it a question to any of you to do that very same thing! She would lay down her life RIGHT NOW for every one of us and the nation! So why are we even contemplating doing the very same! OUR NATION NEEDS US TO FIGHT! SO FIGHT!" 556 shouts with tears bursting out of her eyes. Everyone stops, and looks over at her as the British in the distance began to train weapons on us, they were soon to enter combat range. Everyone was shocked, She was always the happy, and innocent girl of us all.
