"How'd did go". Naruto asked locking the door to the house after Hinata entered.
"Good". She replied plainly looking at the blond walk into the kitchen.
The Hyuga walked into the kitchen watching Naruto boil his fifteen minutes instant ramen.
"Naruto". Hinata started unsure of what exactly to say.
"Hmm". Naruto turned to the contemplating Hyuga who was currently fiddling with her fingers.
"W-what happened at the club, was it just a fling".
"Hinata. I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't attracted to you and I just want to be friends and you should forget the kiss...".
It would have been fine if he had ended there and a few days ago he would have. But things can change in the blink of an eye.
"But I've made a lot of me in my life. And I don't want this to turn out to be a beautiful relationship and then you find out about my past and we break up.
If you knew me nine years ago I can guarantee you that you'll have done your best to stay away from me. You'll have hated me".
Hinata couldn't believe her ears. She didn't know if she should be happy that he said he was attracted to her or sad that he didn't want them to go beyond friends.
"What did you feel when you kissed me".
Her eyes were already pooling with tears and at the moment shr didn't know if it was of joy or sorrow.
"I felt happy. I felt pleasure and I also felt guilt. I kissed an engaged woman and I felt guilty".
"I see". She smiled faintly before walk away.
Naruto looked at where the Hyuga once stood and sighed.
It wasn't a fling. He felt it. The same foreign feeling he had felt the moment she walked into the bar.
It wasn't a fling. There was no denying it. It has been short, it had been brief yet it was perfect.
It wasn't at a party or on the roof like most romance movies. It has been on the sidewalk of a club where just inside was a lot of drunk people vomiting.
Yet it was magical. Their first kiss.
"Hinata I'm sorry". Hinata heard Naruto say from the other end of the now locked bedroom door.
Naruto had made himself comfortable by sitting on the floor with his head rested on the door.
"These bad things you did how bad are they. On a scale of one to ten".
"I'll say two".
"Naruto just tell me I can take it".
"It's not a matter of if you can take it or not it's a matter of you judging me".
"I won't judge you".
"Promise?".
The wood Naruto was leaning on was pushed inside. Naruto looked up to see the Hinata staring at him with her most sincere face. "I promise".
"Naruto you've stalled long enough now it's time to tell me". Hinata complained looking at the blond who was slowly eating his cup ramen.
Naruto had complained about feeling icky and took the longest shower. Then he said his ramen had overcooked so he boiled another one and now they where both seated on the bed him eating his ramen at a sloth's pace.
Naruto dropped his almost empty ramen cup and let out a breath of air.
"Okay. Hinata the truth his back in highschool I was something called a truant".
The blond shut his eyes memories of everything he did flooding back.
"So you missed a few classes why does that have to bother you".
"It's more than just a few classes. When I turned sixteen life just wasn't going great for me. At a point I just decided to give up on trying. I missed classes, attended a lot of parties, had a lot of terrible history with a lot of girls. College was worse. I almost dropped out once but all that changed when I inherited my parents business and without Sakura to knock some sense into me once in a while I don't think I'd have graduated high school".
Hinata had a lot of questions but the first one that came to her mind had to be the dumbest one.
"I thought you said you've never been in a relationship".
"They were just casual".
"So you've never been in a serious relationship".
"No I hav....... See your judging me". Naruto raised his arms and made it fall dramatically. He turned from the Hyuga making his feet land on the ground.
Hinata looked at the back turned blond.
He was right, she definitely wouldn't have liked the Naruto back then but that was nine years ago. People change and she knew the man sitting in front of her wasn't the same as the kid nine years ago.
"Why do you think I'll break up with you because of that". Hinata asked moving closer to Naruto.
"How would you feel if I tell you that I've kissed twenty girls before you or what if we get married and have kids and they inherit my truancy".
"Then if that's the case can you kiss me".
Hinata was even more shocked than Naruto at what she said but when Naruto turned and she looked into those bright blue eyes all form of fear disappeared inside he.
"I can't. If I kiss you then all this becomes real. The most realistic this is, the more painful it becomes for you and then the harder it becomes for me to let go of my feelings".
"Please Naruto. Let me feel that spark between us one last time and then I'll erase all my feelings".
"Okay".
Naruto cupped face in his palms and slowly pulled her it closer to his.
She felt his breath of hesitation when they were just a millimeter apart and she couldn't help but doubt what she was doing.
Was it right in anyway at all?. Should they be doing this?.
But then all form of doubt disappeared when their lips.
It was magical. They had more than just a spark, they had a bond. A bond she couldn't just sever that easily.
When they separated and their breaths were still mixed the Hyuga asked.
"You can't let go of the feeling can you?". "No".
Naruto let go of her face and turned his back towards her again.
"I wish things could have been different between us".
The Hyuga smiled sadly looking at the giant picture frame of Naruto's parents.
"Me too".
She had cried so much these past few weeks. And every time he was always there to comfort her but now she was crying because of him.
"Naruto. I love you".
Those were has last words as she leaned her head on his back and the sleep engulfed her.
Naruto gently held her head and placed it in his laps.
What was wrong with him. A few days ago he would have jumped up in joy to hear those words hack even a few hours ago. What happened. What changed during that time.
The kiss was great. It was like fireworks exploded in his stomach. It sent a thrill to course through his body.
Yet he rejected her even after their spontaneous intimacy.
He looked at the sleeping Hyuga and smiled.
"I love you too".
