"do you think this looks good emiko?" i ask looking down at my phone, "you look so good, you have to wear that." she smiles admiring the outfit i had picked out.

i hadn't really thought out my whole time situation. i took what was supposed to be a quick nap which eventually turned into a three hour nap. i woke up with only two hours to get ready before tristan picked me up, i don't really know why i even said yes to going. i don't even like tristan that much, and the people at the party are probably just going to be people from school.

"okay, thank you emi! i'm gonna go finish getting ready i'll call you later." i blow a kiss and we end the call.

i quickly curled my hair and before i could even get to my makeup, tristan pulled up. i looked out window and rolled my eyes at the boy smiling at me as he got out of his car.

"why are you here so early?" i ask opening the front door for him, letting him inside. "i'm not early, you're just not very good at keeping track of time." he says showing me my phone, "fuck, i completely lost track of time." i groan and walk back to my room, sitting at my vanity.

"hurry up and do your makeup, we're gonna be late." he says sitting down on the edge of my bed, "stop rushing me or i'm going to go ten times slower." i look at him through the mirror and he's smiling.

"you look pretty without makeup." he says randomly as he watches me, "how would summer feel about you saying that?" i shake my head and laugh a little, "she can't say anything, we aren't even dating anymore." he replies and i widen my eyes, "oh, i'm sorry tristan." i really didn't know what to say, i didn't expect them to break up.

he shakes his head and shrugs, "it's fine, it was my idea." obviously, they weren't the happiest couple. anytime i saw them together, they'd be arguing about something or one of them would be mad at the other, but they always got over it.

"so does your makeup, like take forever to do?" he says laying back and sighing, "i think if you stop talking to me if can get it done in five." i smile at him and he laughs, "fine, i'll shut up." he puts his hands in the air.

once i finally finished my makeup, i slipped on my shoes and got everything i needed. "took you long enough." he says, "that only took me like ten minutes, you're fine dugray." i roll my eyes as we walk out of my room.

"i'll be back later rory, tell mom i love her when she gets home!" i shout and we walk outside to his car. just like yesterday, he walks to my side of the car first and opens my door. "thank you." i smile slightly and get in.

"so are there gonna be drinks at this party?" i ask looking over at him, "i don't know, maybe." he shrugs, "i better not be going to a party without alcohol dugray, i'm not gonna be able to stand anyone." i laugh, "you'll live." he shakes his head and looks back at the road.

when we got to the party, i was faced with another huge house. there were a few people outside talking, the others i could see inside.

whenever we walked inside, there were people everywhere. "c'mon, let's go see if they have your drinks." he says and i follow behind him as we walk to the kitchen. i see bottles of different kinds of drinks, "perfect." i smile and grab a bottle of tequila. "want some?" i ask him as i pour the drink into a cup, "i'm not drinking, i still have to take you home and i'm definitely not letting you drive." he replies and i hit his arm slightly, "i won't even get that drunk, i'm a good driver." i smile and he shakes his head, "not happening."

we both walk to the backyard and sit at a small couch by the bonfire. "i don't even know how you're drinking that, tequila's disgusting." he laughs, "that's why you just have to drink a lot so you don't taste it." i shrug taking another drink.

we talk about random things, luckily no one bothers us. there were barely anyone in the back except a few people on the other side, everyone else was inside.

after around thirty minutes we got tired of being outside so we decided to go find his friends that had just gotten to the party. "bowman what's up!" he says as we approach him, "where's duncan?" tristan asks, "he's shitting." he points to the door and they laugh. i'm not really invoking myself in the conversation, just standing there.

"you know adelaide right?" tristan places his hand on my back, "yeah, we've met a few times." he says back and smiles at me, "nice to see you again." i smile back.

"we were just about to head upstairs, i bet duncan a hundred if i could beat him in foosball." he says, "he sucks at that game." tristan laughs, "exactly what i've been saying, he just doesn't believe me." he shrugs.

once duncan was done in the bathroom, the two boys went upstairs while tristan and i went to go refill my drink. afterwards, we went upstairs and found somewhere to sit and watch while they played the game.

"i'm gonna go to the bathroom." i say to tristan and he nods, "hurry, you have to watch me beat bowman's ass at foosball." i walk around the house searching for a bathroom. we had been upstairs for the past hour and i've just been downing my drinks.

when i finally found the bathroom, the silence got to me. it's always those damn bathroom trips when i realize how fucked up i really am. i probably sat in there for ten minutes just staring at nothing.

i finally walk out of the bathroom and i find myself walking back outside to just go get some air.

*tristan's pov*

i look at where adelaide was sitting, finding her not to be there. "did she ever come back from the bathroom?" i ask duncan and he shrugs, "i never saw her." i look at bowman and he shrugs as well. "fuck." i immediately walk away from the game and find the bathroom, no one was in there.

"adelaide?" i yell walking down the stairs, i look outside and find someone laying down in the grass, immediately knowing it was her. "jesus christ." i sigh and walk to her.

"i thought you weren't getting too drunk." i say sitting next to her, she was laying there just staring at the sky. "i'm not even drunk, help me up." she says sitting up, i carefully pull her up. "how long have i been out here?" she asks wiping her mouth off with her sleeve, "i have no clue." i laugh.

"did you win that game?" she asks me, "do you know who i am?" i laugh at her as she rolls her eyes, "oh so you lost? i'm sorry." she frowns sarcastically, "be quiet." i shake my head.

we walk in circles around the yard together just talking, "can you not walk straight?" i laugh as she bumps into me about the hundredth time, "i am walking straight!" she says, "i didn't know walking straight was tripping over air every five seconds." i look at her, "you're so annoying." she shakes her head.

"you love me." i smile at her and she rolls her eyes, "keep dreaming." she smiles back, "you definitely do." i look at her, "shut your mouth before i shut it for you dugray." she says, "come over here and do it then princess."

*adelaide's pov*

"you really need to stop with these nicknames." i shake my head at him, "no can do." he shrugs and smiles at me. "i like your smile." i say finally making eye contact without looking away. "yours is better." he replies, causing me to smile. he pushes the hairs in my face behind my ear, "can i kiss you adelaide?"
