"mom!" i shout waking up my mom, "what?" she wakes up scared, "what are you doing?" rory asks standing next to me. "having a heart attack." she yawns, "i thought you were up, its 7:10!" rory says, "no." my mom mumbles turning away from us, "it's 7:10!" rory yells and i pull the pillow from her side. "it's a quarter to six." she snatches her pillow back, "no it's not, it's 7:10!" she repeats, once again. "no it's not, i set the clock for a quarter to six." she claims and i pick up the alarm clock sitting next to her bed, showing her the time.

"dammit!" she shoots up from her bed, "mom, first you force me to go to this dumb school, second i'm being forced to wear this dorky uniform, and now you're making us late!" i whine, "chilton will be good for you adelaide." she states. "sure." i cross my arms watching her pace around the house looking for clean clothes. "you two go get in the car and warm it up." she points to me and rory and throws us the keys.

i don't wanna go to this school. i already know it's gonna be full of snobby rich kids who only cares about themselves. my mom asked my grandparents for help, financially wise. they gave her almost two hundred thousand dollars to send us to this school, rory actually wanted to go. of course, there's a catch to this deal.

friday night dinners,

every.single.friday.

i've never been close with my grandparents since my mom has mostly kept me away, she distanced herself from them a lot when she had rory and i. she's raised us alone since basically forever. she ran away from home and took on the challenge to raise us by herself which has turned out to be one of the best things to happen to us. me, my twin sister, and my mom are inseparable, it almost feels like we are all sisters because we can actually talk to our mom like shes a teenager just like us. although we argue often, nothing can break us apart.

me and rory are the absolute opposite of each other. rory is a girl thats nice to everyone she meets, she's extremely sensitive and super smart. she's the main reason we're going to chilton, she got offered a scholarship and had never been happier. she keeps to herself at all times with her nose in a book.

me on the other hand, well i'm very different. people like to say i'm mean but i prefer to say i'm brutally honest, i will tell you what i think, even if you don't like it. my friends always come first, no matter what . i love talking to people and being around friends. i never care what people think of me, as long as i like myself i'm fine.

i prefer not to follow the rules. rules are just things stopping me from having fun, so why listen?

"please don't make me go in there mom." my view is a giant, gated off school with overpriced cars filling up the parking lot. i close my eyes in hopes that this is all a dream, "you'll be okay, good luck." she kisses me and rory's forehead, "bye mom!" rory gets out of the car excited, "how is she so happy about this?" i sigh, "because rory is rory. now go be you, make some friends and have fun." she smiles and i nod, "i love you." she adds, "i love you too mom." i smile slightly and get out of the car. "leave my side and i kill you rory gilmore." i threaten and she just nods, still smiling brightly.

secretly, i'm wishing someone would run me over before i get inside.
