Two years later, 14-year-old Nathan Hughes packed his bag as he prepared to move back to Ohio. He kept thinking about the kiss he and Joanna Lavender had had back when she finished reading the note he gave her.
He looked around his old room and saw his old diary. He opened it and flipped the pages to the last entry he made about Joanna. The one about the move and the kiss.
Gently, he touched his lips with his fingers. The more he thought about it, the more he remembered how good they felt whenever Joanna touched them. He remembered how soft and warm her lips were and sighed, wishing he could go back to all those moments when it was just him and her.
"Fate will bring us back together if we're meant to be." Her words echoed in his mind as he put the diary in his backpack and headed down the stairs. He couldn't stop thinking about the search he did on his computer when he first got here.
The more he thought about Joanna, the more he missed her. Yes he was very much in love with her. Her warm, soft, soothing lips had only given him one more reason to miss her. A tear slipped down his cheek as he thought about how sensitive she was to his emotions. She somehow always knew how he was feeling.
He remembered how she would always try and make him feel better when he was feeling down or if he had a rough day. Being around her always made him feel better. Just being able to see her made his day, even if it was a bad or tiring one.
He thought back to when they were locked in the dance studio. She had been the one to take charge. She had been the one to help him through it. Yes, she had also been the one to strip him of his clothes. But he loved her regardless.
Nathan brushed his fingers through his platinum blond hair and sighed, thinking about how they almost had to kiss on stage during a show. He had been lucky to not have his first kiss back when he was ten but he had been jealous of his than best friend, Dominik Edgar, who had been the one to take the kiss instead.
As he got into the car, he kept thinking back to her soothing voice, making him struggle to put his seat belt on. Just thinking about it made his eyelids heavy. Once he figured out his seat belt, he let out a yawn before letting his eyes close, falling asleep soon after. He ended up dreaming about memories that had been long forgotten due to Joanna's power over him.
February 5, 2019:
"Hey Nathan!" Joanna's energetic, yet soothing voice called out. He turned to look at her and felt his whole body just relax upon meeting her gaze. "Hello." He replied, his usual wavering voice now soft and relaxed. The girl giggled, stood up, and walked towards him. The closer she was to him, the better he felt.
He reached his peak, when she stopped, standing directly in front of him. He almost couldn't hold back how good he felt, when her hand gently brushed against his face. His eyes fluttered, revealing to her how tired he actually was. She giggled again and gently took his hand in hers.
She led him to the bench she had been sitting on when he first stepped into the dance studio that day, when he heard her voice start ringing in his ears. Very early on in the song, he let out a massive yawn. She pulled him closer to her, causing his whole body to go limp, as her body felt so gentle and soothing, yet strong.
As she sang, his eyelids got heavier and heavier until he couldn't keep them open any longer. Her voice rang out in his ears, slowly fading as she sang him into sleep.
March 2, 2019:
"What are you reading?" Joanna asked, her voice almost irresistible to him. He glanced up at her and saw that she was standing right directly in front of him, causing his heart to start racing. Her face was so close to his. He could practically feel the warmth raiding off her lips. "Uh..." Was the only thing he was able to let out due to how close she was.
He couldn't keep his eyes off hers. Yes, both of them had emerald green eyes, but hers were somehow different. Hers were much more powerful. She could take over his mind in mere seconds if she wanted to. His mouth hung open as he felt all his strength suddenly disappear.
She giggled softly at how easy he was to hypnotize. All she had to do was make sure she was the only thing he could sense, and he was gone. His mind was so weak to her powers.
His eyelids started getting really heavy. His vision blurred off and on. He felt his arms loosen up and his muscles relax, very deeply. She gently took the book away and left it on his bag, closed with a bookmark in it. He was lucky the show was over. He could feel cold sweat dripping off his forehead. But he didn't care. All that mattered to him were the eyes. He couldn't look away. He didn't want to look away.
His body felt so good and relaxed. All he could think about were how beautiful her eyes were. As his eyes finally dropped closed, he felt something wrap around his body, making the relaxation intensify. He snuggled into them, allowing his body to go limp with relaxation.
June 4, 2019:
His eyes didn't want to stay open. They kept dropping closed. She brushed her hand through his hair and started massaging the back of his head, causing him to let out a sigh of relaxation. As he leaned into her hand, he allowed his eyes to drop closed for a minute so he could enjoy the feeling longer. The girl giggled slightly at his expression. "Does that feel good Nathan?" She asked, gently. "Mmmhmm." Nathan hummed, completely unable to form any words due to how relaxed he felt. She suddenly deepened the massage, causing him to let out a moan.
She whispered something into his ear, "Let your eyes drop. I'll take care of your mind." Nathan opened his mouth to attempt to respond, "B-But...I....W-W-What?" His mind was mush, thus making him completely unable to form any proper logical thought or sentence. Gently, the girl shushed him. "Just relax. Sleep. I'll take care of your mind. I promise." She whispered, caressing the side of his face.
Nathan's eyelids slowly dropped closed. He was so tired. "See? That wasn't that bad, was it?" Was the last thing he heard before letting himself fall into the comfort and warmth and relaxation that Joanna's body brought him.
Present Day (May 1, 2023):
Nathan opened his eyes, groaned, rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, and, for a second, forgot where he was, but quickly realized that he was inside the new house. "Ugh.. How long was I out?" He asked, rubbing his eyes once more. His little brother, Xander, was the one who replied. "You were out for most of the drive and we got here about an hour ago and you were still out."
"Ugh." Nathan groaned, rubbing his head. After Xander left, Nathan reflected on the dreams he had. "I feel like I was actually in those situations." He thought. Which was strange. He had never felt that way about a dream he had before now.
That night, Nathan lay in bed, thinking about those dreams. Slowly, very slowly, the memories came back. He didn't have time to think about them and investigate them, however, as the memory of Joanna's song came back as well. He yawned, once more being soothed into sleep by the song that Joanna always sang to him whenever she was trying to sing him into sleep.
