The sun was setting over the dockside of downtown Port Angeles, just across the Main Street where you worked diligently at the only record store in town. The soft glow under the partial clouds in the sky was beaming brightly through your oversized windows and slowly dimmed darker and darker as the sun disappeared over the horizon. At the same time, the moon grew into the sky with a different kind of glow, letting your store's low lights sparkle and setting the mood of a chill building for teenagers and young adults to hang out.
Not only was it a record store to buy records and listen to music for free, but it was also a place where people could come and study, hang out with friends, or see the live entertainment you had occasionally. It was never anything special; only a few smaller bands sometimes came and spread their music for people to get into. You loved this job; it wasn't hard. You worked with one of your best friends, who also happened to be the manager, and your shared group of friends would occasionally come and hang out. Let's say this is where the younger crowd comes to hang out and have fun with each other; it's a popular spot in this smaller town of Washington.
You leaned against the counter with your elbows resting on the cold granite, scrolling through your phone, waiting for a customer to need help or have questions you could answer. Currently, Mikasa was helping someone at the register next to you and chatting away, but you were lost in your own world. You stared at the messages on the screen, smiling as you reread the thousands of chat bubbles. The most recent one makes you blush.
I can't wait to see you tomorrow, beautiful. -Colt
Over the past week, you had been texting Colt nonstop. The both of you had been texting daily, sending responses right away, not wasting time to talk to each other again. You began FaceTiming each other instead when you had time to physically chat because you just had so much to say to each other. Your connection was remarkable, considering it was early on in your relationship. There would be nights where you would talk so late that you would fall asleep together on calls, then wake up together still on call. It felt like you've known him forever for some reason, and he just connected with you so well.
You were excited about the date you had planned for tomorrow. You both opted for a local bar to have drinks and a fun night out where you can both still talk to each other. It seemed like you had endless things to talk about. On the other hand, you haven't spoken to Eren since Sunday, when you both rekindled your friendship. He even said he would text you, and you waited, but nothing. You would've texted or called him, too, but you were so distracted by Colt that you forgot.
