I woke up the next morning to an empty house, Jett was gone for work so it was just Moose (our dog) and I. For breakfast, I made myself some waffles since I was starving, Molly came over for the rest of the morning and then she left once Jett came home from practice at the test track.
"Aves we need to go grocery shopping." Jett complained and I looked in our pantry to see we literally had no food, "give me 10 minutes and we can go." I said and then quickly made a list of all the meals I would make for the rest of this week and all the snacks we need.
I got dressed into some better clothes and then Jett drove us to the grocery store that was 5 minutes away. There were so many people there but I never lost Jett in any of the isles mainly because I could tell his accent apart from anyone else in Florida.
"We need these!" Jett came over to the cart and held up a box of donuts, "ok whatever bud." I said and he smiled while setting them in the cart. "Oh and we need these!" He opened the freezer door and grabbed some drumsticks as another one of his desserts. "You gonna eat those in press day?" I asked and laughed while he just rolled his eyes and nodded. (Iykyk from one of the interviews)
Jett loaded all of our groceries onto the conveyer belt and the lady scanned all our our items, the total was 223 dollars but that's what I get for bringing Jett, we don't just get the things on the list...
Luckily Jett offered to load all the groceries in the back of the car and then he unloaded them back into the house while I filled up our pantry and fridge. "You're much help." Jett mumbled to me once he sat down on the couch and I changed the channel, "sor-ry!" I said back with attitude and he just mocked me.
"You gonna watch me race this weekend?" He asked and I nodded, "there's not much else to do." I said and he smiled, "well I was gonna force you anyways." "Ah thanks." I said and he laughed while I leaned my head against his shoulder and took a short nap.
I woke up and noticed my head was on the sofa, not Jett's shoulder, I looked around and Jett wasn't even inside. Moose barked out back and I went over there and saw my husband bbq-ing and playing fetch with the dog. "'Bout time you woke up!" Jett exclaimed and I rolled my eyes while walking over to him, "shut up." I said and he wrapped his arms around me. "Hunter and Cynthia are coming for dinner, if that's ok?" He asked and I nodded. "I'll go set up the table." I said and walked back inside then grabbed 4 plates and 4 sets of forks and knifes, the table was set up very nicely and I brought all the drinks inside and for some cups out, I decided to taste-test coke with some vodka and that was some strong shit. I made a funny face and then instantly spit the mixture out in the sink while Jett walked in a the wrong time.
"Don't try that at all." I said and almost gagged while drinking plain water, "I don't even wanna know." He said and set the burgers down and covered them in foil while we waited for Hunter and Cynthia.
The doorbell rang and Moose ran over to the door and started barking, "shut it!" I yelled and moved the dog so I could open the door, Moose went crazy when he saw Hunter and then he got the zoomies and ran all around the house. "God that dog is psychotic." I mumbled and Cynthia laughed while she gave me a hug, "kinda like Hunter." She said back and I laughed, "hey that's not nice." Hunter whined and I raised and eyebrow because I had no clue how he could have heard since it was quieter than a whisper.
We all sat down once we each made our hamburger, I decided to make mine 'healthier' and not eat the bun so I wrapped mine in lettuce and told myself it was good when it honestly tasted nasty.
"Are you ok Averie?" Hunter asked and I nodded once I felt all of them staring at me, "yeah the bbq sauce was spicy." I quickly made something up and they all laughed while I gagged on the nasty lettuce and healthy version of bbq sauce.
"How's Molly doing, like with the baby?" Cynthia asked, "she's doing good but she really is over it." I said and she laughed, "at 8 months I guess she just wants to already have the damn thing." They all laughed at my comment and I smiled to myself thinking how in a month I was gonna be an aunt!
"When are you guys gonna have kids?" Cynthia asked me, why does everyone keep asking that? I looked at Jett and he had the same expression as when Molly asked us that question too, "who knows?" Jett responded and I nodded. "Someday we will." I said and Jett reached under the table and squeezed my hand and I blushed knowing that meant 'someday', is gonna be soon.
"What about you Cynth?" Jett asked and then looked at his brother, "soon, just waiting to move into our bigger house next month." Hunter answered and I just nodded and tried not to get weirded out by this conversation of having sex within next month.
Jett brought the drumsticks our and everyone at one except me, I blamed my bloated stomach- which wasn't a lie, but I didn't need those extra calories. We sat on the couch for a while and laughed while making fun of Jett in his race last weekend, on press day, he went OTB and Hunter still thinks it's the funniest thing while I ran over to my husband just laying there on the dirt- don't worry he was all great, the wind got knocked out of him for a few minutes.
Hunter and Cynthia went home around 11 and I was so tired that I went straight to bed and decided on taking a shower in the morning when I had the energy. "Goodnight Jett." I mumbled and he rolled over to give me a kiss on my forehead and then I was knocked out.
