The bodyguard came into my 'room' and he told me to stand up, it took me a few seconds but I stood up and glared. "The boss would like to see you." He said and I took a deep breath and bit my tongue to not say anything back, "okay." I said and followed the guy into "the boss's" room.

"So, Averie, do you know why you are here?" The bald guy asked me, "no I don't." "Well your mother wanted to take you on a trip this weekend, she was going to slip something in your drink and turn you into us but she knew you wouldn't accept the offer, so she asked if we could be at your house when she offered. Basically your mother needs a lot of money for some 'business' things and we offer big bucks for a certain person..." He explained and I hung my head, I was just betrayed. My own mother would use me just so she could get money for whatever fucking 'business' all this bullshit is. Wow.

"I understand." I said and the bald guy smiled, "I promise we won't do anything bad to you, but your mother will come check up on you every other day. So you have to act broken when she visits so this process will speed up?" He said and I just nodded as a tear escaped my eye.

Over the next few days, I would get woken up around 8am, my mom would come see me for 10 minutes at maximum and then she would leave and I got to sit in a 'living room' with just a single tv and one of the big guys sitting right next to me. That boss lied straight to my face, those guys made my life hell, they would touch me whenever they felt like it plus they talked shit to my face and I just wanted to die. Every single word I said could have been told to the boss and so I just learned not to even say anything.

This place didn't even give me food, apparently my mom said I needed to lose weight because I was extremely overweight, so I haven't had any sort of food since the day I arrived here. Each day, my mom would just laugh or say more cruel words to me, I actually started to believe them after awhile... "nobody loves me anymore because nobody's trying to save me" or "everyone forgot about me and moved on"

She would say the worst things you could ever tell a human being, especially to her own daughter. After 2 weeks of being here, I had noticed a lot of change in me. My stomach wasn't even hungry anymore and I had lost a lot of weight, too much in fact.

After the end of the second week, I was able to finally shower except the door was clear and so I had to be watched. But I needed to shower, I couldn't function like this much longer without making myself go crazy. Food was finally an option but it wasn't edible, watered down green beans was an option or ham and cheese sandwich but the cheese had mold on it, honestly starving myself was better. Plus I could only eat once a day and I had 3 times for a water break, literally the size of a shot glass.

I ended up puking up the meal even if I just ate one tiny bite and so I gave up, my stomach was in knots and I even felt sick in the head, my whole body was weak and I knew nobody would even recognize me...

-Jett's pov-
A month had passed and the police basically just dropped the whole case about Averie, somehow life went on but it was very different...track days were different, Chase was acting different, Molly barely even left her house, and I was a total different person. I did anything and everything to stay out of my house because that was the one place I was alone and the last place my wife was before she disappeared.

"Jett, I don't think she's alive anymore." Molly said and turned her tv off, she looked at me and I was just zoned out, she can't be. "You mean she's dead?" I asked and my voice cracked. "We haven't heard anything about her since almost 2 months ago, tomorrow will be 2 months without her Jett..." Molly said and I shook my head. "No she's alive, she has to be!" I said and she just looked at me and frowned.

"Molly she's not dead!" I yelled and then her frown turned into a confused expression. "The police know something, there is no way Averie's dead, her mom knows exactly where she is!" I continued and Molly just wiped her eyes as Chase came into the room with 3-month old Sophie.

"But we don't even know where my mom is, she could be anywhere?" Chase said and I sighed. "Jett I think it's time to move on..." Molly said and she sniffled, I looked at her and started crying, it's true, my wife is officially gone and I have to move on without her...

-1 month later-
Today was the day I got told I could be free, I tried to smile except I haven't smiled in so long that I actually forgot how to. I tried to stand up from my mattress but I couldn't, my body wasn't even working correctly and I was out of breath by calling the bodyguard over. He helped me stand up and I just closed my eyes and leaned against him while the boss came over and told me a few things.

"Your mom thinks you're still gonna be here for 2 more months but we're letting you go now, you need to see a doctor Averie, like quick. Tell them you were stranded for 2 months and they'll know what treatment to give you." The bald guy explained to me and I nodded slowly.

"But nobody can know about this, if you tell a soul, you will be in big trouble Averie!" He said and I swore not to tell, he told me goodbye for the last time but I didn't even have enough strength to say it back.

One of the bodyguards carried me out to a black car and I fell asleep for the first time comfortably in the back seat. The car stopped and I got woken up about an hour later, "there's your home, you have to walk there from here." One of the guys said and then they opened the door for me and I stumbled out of the car as they drove off. I sat there on the sidewalk and tried to get up, I had to literally climb against the fence to help me stand up but I barely had enough strength.

Somehow I walked all the way to the front door of the house that used to be so familiar but now it's strange, I did the smallest little knock on the door and hoped somebody would answer.

"Hello?" A girl asked when she opened the door, she looked at me up and down with disgust, "what do you want?" I tried to clear my throat. "Does Jett still live here?" I whispered and then she looked at me and closer to door, I closed my eyes and was about to walk away when I heard the door open again.

"You wanted to see me?" A voice asked, I turned around and saw him. My eyes opened more and my heart felt more alive, my stomach got butterflies just seeing my husband again. "Do I know you?" He asked and then my happy moment went away, my heart sank and I sighed... "Hello?"
