6:00 AM
*Sonic is woken up by the sound of his phone alarm.* *It plays Green Hill Zone.*
*yawns* "Morning already?" "Well, I guess I better hurry up and get ready!" "I don't want to be late on the first day!" "Except when I'm fashionably late, but I plan for that."
*By the blur of a second, Sonic gets ready for the day.* *He grabs his Sonic-branded backpack and sprints downstairs to say goodbye to his mother, Ms. Aleena.*
What? Sonic can wear stuff with his face on it. It's not self-absorbed at all!
"Well, gotta get going, mom!" "I can't be late for the first day!" Sonic says at a fast pace.
"Now you're not leaving until you've had breakfast!" "Here, I made some blue waffles for you!"
"SWEET!" "Thanks, Mom!"
*Sonic scarfs down the waffles while washing them down with a glass of milk.*
"Well, the breakfast was good! "Thanks, Mom!" "Gotta go, bye!"
*Sonic zooms out the door before Aleena can say anything.*
"Will that kid ever slow down?" She asks herself.
6:30 AM
*Sonic runs across the neighborhood to Green Hill High School.* *In regular time it takes about five minutes to get there by car, but for Sonic it takes fifteen seconds.*
*Sonic arrives at the front of the school building and is greeted by his two best friends, Tails the Fox and Knuckles the Echidna.*
"Hey, you two!" "Long time no see!" "How was your summer?"
"Oh, it was pretty productive!" Tails said. "I mainly just worked on new inventions and plane upgrades at the workshop!" "I made sure to get some exercise in too so I can still keep up with you Sonic!" "Haha."
Sonic chuckles back. "That's great buddy!" "It sounds like it was a pretty awesome summer!" "How about you, Knucklehead?"
"I just do what I do every summer." "Guard the Master Emerald and make sure that a certain BAT doesn't try to get her sneaky little gloves on MY emerald."
"About that?" Sonic asked. "Did she pay you a little visit?"
"She did a few times." Knuckles said. "But every time she got close, I would knock her out with a powerful punch and drag her into a nearby cave for her to sleep."
"Well... at least you're nice enough to drag her to a safe place." Tails chuckled nervously.
"Yeah, I could do worse, but most of the time I just don't feel like dealing with her." "I just don't know if she will ever give up."
"When it comes to jewels and emeralds, Rouge won't give up until she has them all." "Looks like you're gonna be dealing with her for the rest of your life Knucklehead!" Sonic jokes.
"Oh great." Knuckles says sarcastically.
"C'mon guys, we should go in and find our lockers!" Tails exclaimed.
"You're right bud." "Let's do it!" Sonic replied.
*Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles walked through the school doorways only to be greeted by the sight that can only be described as utter chaos in an anthropomorphic high school setting.* *Students were using powers like flying and telekinesis throughout the hallways, and bigger students were shoving smaller ones into lockers.*
"Sonic... I'm scared." Tails said in a nervous voice.
"Don't worry buddy." "We're not gonna let anything happen to ya." Sonic smiled with confidence.
"Yeah!" Knuckles replied back. "Nobody is gonna mess with you when you're with us!" "If they do, then they have another thing coming towards them!" Knuckles clenched his fists together.
*Tails lets out a sigh of relief.* "They're right." "There is nothing to worry about!" "I'm safe with them."
*Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles look at their locker numbers and find out that they are all next to each other.* *They walk through the rowdy hallway to their empty lockers and put their things in there.* *Knuckles' locker is on the far left, with Tails in the middle and Sonic with the second to last locker on the right.* *He wonders who has the locker next to him.*
"Whoever is my locker mate, I hope they won't cause trouble." "I'm trying to stay out of that this year."
*All of a sudden, a black figure wearing earplugs walks from the opposite side of the hallway towards Sonic's way.* *Not noticing Sonic and his friends, he goes up to his locker and opens it.*
"Hmph." He says.
"SHADOW?!" Sonic replied in shock.
