It was miserable outside. The heavy rain pounded on the top of your 57' Chevy and ran down the windows, making it almost impossible to see. It also didn't help you were on a street with no lights on it and it was pitch black outside. Soon you saw a bright sign on the side of the road, it read 'Bate's Motel'. You let out a sigh of relief as you turned into the lot, the dirt crushed under your wheels. The motel was mainly brown except the doors, they were a dark swampy green colour with gold numbers on the doors. You pulled right up close to the motel. No one seemed to be in the building so you honked your horn impatiently. Soon you looked to your left, a dark victorian style house came into your view, being slightly wrapped by the rain falling down your windshield. Soon you could see a man running down the stairs and to the motel. "Sorry about that! Not many people come here this late!" the man shouted over the harsh rain as he opened your door for you, you slid across the seat and quickly got under the cover of the awning. "No worries!" you shouted as you watched him open your back door and grabbed your two pieces of luggage. You followed the man to the last door on the left of the motel, he set your luggage down at your feet. He rummaged through his pockets for the keys, soon the shinny metal was put in the lock then turned. The man pushed the door open then grabbed your luggage, proceeding to walk through the door and into the building, you followed quickly and shut the door behind you.

The warm building relaxed you a bit, though you were practically soaked from how heavy the rain was. You rubbed your hands over your arms to create friction which would create heat, though not much. The man put your luggage down at the dark wooden desk then made his way around to the other side quickly. You walked up to the desk and looked at the man, he was tall and on the thinner side, his brown hair stuck to his forehead due to the rain. Soon his brown eyes made contact with yours, they were adorable, they reminded you of a puppy dog. "I'll need a room for the night." you said quickly "Well t-that's great!" the man said as he started to shuffle around some papers behind the desk, soon a large book was placed in front of you "I'll n-need your name here, then your add-dress here. Just the town will do too." he stuttered as he pointed to the empty boxes on the book. You grabbed the pen and wrote you name, then the town you lived in. Though you didn't live there anymore, and you won't ever again. After you were done the man quickly turned the book to him then nodded his head while closing the book, putting it back to where he got it. He then turned to the box of keys on the wall behind him, he moved his finger around then grabbed a key. "You'll be in room one." he grinned as he dropped the key in your hands. He then cam back around the desk and grabbed your bags for you then walked back outside, you followed him, your heels clicking on the cement under you. The man then opened the door to your room and walked in to set your luggage down. "Thank you." you said with a smile as he turned to you, his puppy eyes looked into yours again, making you blush slightly "Yes, o-of course!" he quickly spoke as he turned on the light switch beside him"Do you need anything miss?" he said. You thought for a second "I could have some tea." you said as you looked up at him "Alright. Please, m-miss, follow me." the man said as he passed you, you obeyed his request and followed behind him.

The brown haired man brought you to an office of sorts "P-please, sit." he spoke while pointing to a chair in front of a fire place. You sat down in the comfy dark blue chair while he started up a fire. "Do you like earl grey? That's a-all I h-have." he said shyly as he fiddled with his hands "Yes. I do." you replied, smiling up at him, he quickly turned to a small stove which had a kettle on it. The man did what he needed to do as you turned back towards the fire place, sticking your hands out in front of you. You observed the room, there were taxidermies of birds on every wall.  Soon enough the man came over with your tea and handed it to you, you thanked him once more as you watched him sit down in the chair next to you while taking a sip. "So, are these yours?" you said as you nodded your head to the birds, curiosity dripped from your words "Oh, y-yes!" he spoke nervously "I hope you d-don't find them creepy." he looked over at you with furrowed brows, expecting you to judge him "No, not at all!" you said reassuringly as you smiled at him, he seemed to relax at your words as his brows softened and and he exhaled. "Oh gosh!" the man said as he put his hand to his forehead "I f-forgot to introduce myself, I'm Norman. Norman Bates." He said as he smiled at you, his hand now back on his cup "<___>" you said as you smiled back at him. You two just looked at each other for a bit, you were entranced by his sweet smile and pretty eyes. Quickly you chuckled bringing your head down, sipping your tea.
