(Artoria and Lancer grip their weapons)

Artoria: You have a charm spell.

Lancer: Apologies, but I'm afraid it's a little curse that I was born with. There's really nothing that can be done about it. Blame it on my birth, or if you prefer, the fact you were born a woman.

Artoria: Surely you don't actually believe that a pleasant face and a charming swagger will save you from the bite of my blade, spear man.

Lancer: I certainly hope not- it would spoil the fun. I see now that the tales of the Saber classes' resistance to magic are true. Very well-I prefer not to kill a girl who's throwing herself at me. It would sully my reputation. I'm pleased that my first opponent is made of stern stuff.

Artoria: Oh, so what you desire is a fair fight. I consider myself fortunate to encounter such a strong and proud hero.

Lancer: Then let us begin.

(Saber charges at Lancer first, their weapons exploding and clanking causing the ground where they stood crack. Lancer is being pushed back from Artoria's attack)

Y/n: It started.

Shirou: Someone has put up a barrier, probably the master of Lancer's servant. (Or was it you, dad? Probably from up there on the containers or the cranes is where either dad or Lancer's master is observing.)

(Clanking and clashing from the weapon's continue clashing with each other. Saber avoids a strike right as Lancer is trying to hit her face. She avoids having the lance pierce a container. She carefully examines both of the spears very carefully)

Y/n: (Saber is watching both spears simultaneously. Lancer's greatest advantage is his opponent's uncertainty as to which he will use.)

Artoria: (The long spear in the right hand or the short spear on the left? Which was the Noble Phantasm? If I could be certain which one it was, I could attack and defeat him.)

Y/n: (If only we knew his true name.)

(Lancer makes his move towards Saber as he attacks with both of his spears clashing with Saber's invisible sword)

Artoria: (Whoever he is, he's a master of the spear. However, that is not enough.)

(Lancer tries sweeping Sabers leg with the long spear. He misses as Saber flips over the attack. Then Lancer begins inflicting stronger strikes, making Saber move back)

Lancer: What's wrong, Saber? You're on the defensive.

(Saber grips her sword tight)

Artoria: (This man is impressive.)

(Saber charges, causing Lancer to dodge her attacks as the two servants clash one another. Lancer jumps back. A cut is formed on his face)

Lancer: (Curse that blade of hers. Without knowing its exact length, I can't get close enough to strike. The fact that she's able to repel my strikes so easily means that she must be a master swordsman.)

(The servants start fighting as they clash weapons. On top of one of the cranes, unbeknownst to the masters and Servants, Assassin is watching the fight below. Meanwhile, Caren is at the Holy church talking to Tokiomi)

Caren: There is activity at the warehouse district at the mouth of the Mion River. It seems the first battle has finally begun.

Tokiomi: Not the first battle. To the others, this would be the second battle, Caren.
