Raindrops POV
Pony had just scared the shit out of me. He woke me up, Darry got mad at him and now he can't leave the house. I was sitting out on the steps when I heard the TV on I peaked my head over the window and saw Ponyboy was watching. Whatever not my business, I was getting bored sitting on the stairs waiting for the gang to come over. Today no one had work so they were gonna come over. When they didn't come I decided to go for a walk to the fountain and back. I know I should have told Darry or Soda that I was going for a walk but they'll figure it out. I was humming a song in my head when I saw a dead snake on the ground. In case I forgot to mention I'm SUPER DUPER scared of snakes, like one time we were at a rumble and a Soc brought a rubber snake to scare me. They did I froze and they got me I was in a coma for 3 days cause of what they did. When I saw that snake on my walk I just started running as fast as I could in the direction of the fountain. I was zigzagging around trees, but when I came close to the fountain I tripped on a damn rock I fell face first into the fountain and I started chocking on water. That's not the best part my stomach had hit the outside of the fountain and hurt really bad maybe broke on of my ribs. I was laying there face first in the water for 30 or so seconds when someone pulled me out. Oh great Darry, Soda, or someone from the gang found me and I didn't even have my switchblade. this guy pulled me and picked me up bridal style and put me on a bench. I was still coughing and my stomach hurt like a shit, when I opened my eyes I didn't see Dally or anyone just this one guy. I stopped coughing and he asked me " you ok?" I didn't know what to say he was so pretty, he had blond hair and baby blue eyes and was really tall. "ya fine just my ribs hurt really bad." "How did you fall in anyways?" " Well I was going for a walk when I saw this dead snake in the road, I'm terrified of snakes so I ran towards here and tripped." " I see, I'm Jack by the way Jack Johnson what's your name?" "Um Raindrop Curtis." " do you want to get up Raindrop, you don't look to to good." "sure but I don't need to go home yet." " where do you live anyway" "oh I live right over there about 3 blocks away." Jack didn't look like a Soc or Greaser maybe he was a Soc he sure didn't look like a greaser didn't have the greased hair. "I live on the west side kinda you know the biggest house." HE WAS A SOC! " Your a Soc?!" "Ya but trust me I'm not like Bob or Randy I don't like the stereotype of Socs always hate greasers and the other way around." I was stunned I wanted to punch him but he had saved my life and I kinda liked his " me too, hey Jack do you want to go for a walk?" I asked nervously. "sure why not, you sure your ok you looked like your ribs hurt really bad." " ya I'm fine, do know what time it is?" " 3:00, why?" "Oh no reason" and with that we walked around town we went on the west side walked around Bob came up to us one time and Bob went to grab me but Jack stopped him and said "scram" and that's what he did. we spent like 3 hours over there and it was perfect.

Darry's POV

The last time I saw Rain she was sitting on the stairs outside. it had been almost 5 hours and neither Soda or Pony had seen her, we called the gang over and no one had seen her expect Two-bit he said he had seen running towards the fountain thinking she was racing Pony. Now we had somewhere to start looking, we went to the fountain and on the way found a dead snake. Now we know why she was running she terrified of snakes. But she was no where to be found, we started walking back to house thinking she would be there. She had been kidnapped by the Socs, that's the reason she was gone was my guess. We went inside and waited holding onto hope that she was ok.

Raindrops POV
I had the best time with Jack on the west side, I found out he's 16 only two years older then he. We were walking back to my house when I had a serious pain by my ribs. I fell to the ground in pain clutching my stomach. Jack didn't waste any time picking me up bridal style he started yelled "Darry, Soda, Pony anyone help it Rain." We were right outside my front door when Darry opened it. He saw me, I was in pain I was crying and clutching my stomach I pain. He rushed to help Jack put down on the couch. Jack set me down and all the gang was surrounding me. Soda, Two, and Pony were trying to calm me down, it wasn't working I was screaming in pain.

Darry's POV

This boy carried screaming Rain in and out her on the couch. I put Pony Soda and Two in charge of trying to calm her down. I was asking this boy questions " what happened to her?" Jack told me the whole story how he had found face first in the fountain and she had hurt her ribs. He was a Soc, he took her to the west side and protected her from Bob. And then she collapsed and be brought her here. After I heard his story I was glad he found her not someone else. I went to help Rain and Jack said he was going to leave but before he did I told him I'm glad you found her, and he left. I helped Rain but after 10 minutes Rain fainted after that it was much easier to see the problem I told the gang about Jack and how he had helped Rain, and that I think she has a broken ribs. I was right. We fixed her up and no one slept or ate anything which to me is surprising for Two. We were going to sit there until she wakes up.
