"What are you doing here?" You asked, with a mix of shock and confusion."Conducting some business," Eddie explained, slightly annoyed. "I really should ask you that question, though."
"I came with Steve. This is one of his dumb friend's houses," you replied, exasperated.
"Ah, so why aren't you with Harrington, then?"
You paused, unsure of how to wanted to answer him.
"Oh no," he began, seemingly reading the look on your face, "is there trouble in paradise?"
"Don't worry about it, alright," you spat, pushing past him to go through the back door.
He sighed then pursed his lips as he watched you leave.
You sat on a small, wooden bench that overlooked the backyard. This feeling of betrayal wasn't new for you, as you were harshly reminded of how your ex did the exact same thing. He was practically the polar opposite of Steve, which is what made this hurt so much more.
Steve was the first guy in a long time to make you hope for a future with someone again. The fact that he was also your high school crush made it even better. You envisioned a life with him, and you thought he had done the same. Had he been playing you this whole time? Was there any truth in all the sweet things he said to you?
You were snapped out of your thoughts when Eddie plopped down next to you.
"I'm sorry, I can tell something happened, and I shouldn't have been a dick," he apologized. "So, I'm here if you want to talk or whatever."
"I appreciate your concern, but you don't need to worry about me," you said, looking over at him.
"Well, we have history, so I feel like I should, especially if you're upset, which you clearly are, so c'mon tell me," he pressed, causing you to roll your eyes.
"Fine," you sighed. "I saw Steve kissing another girl."
"Typical," he sighed, shaking his head. "King Steve's back."
"God, don't say that," you said, putting your head in your hands.
"Did you at least confront him?"
"No, I was so angry that I left. I wanted some air, and then I ran into you."
He nodded as you continued, "I just can't believe he'd do this to me, you know? Like, I didn't think he was that guy anymore, but I guess I was wrong. I just feel so stupid... How did I let myself fall for his good guy act?"
"Well, you know what I think of him, and this just proves me right," Eddie began. "The guy's a dick, always has been, always will be. It really bothers me that he's managed to convince you otherwise. You deserve to be treated like a fucking princess."
He then moved closer to you, wrapping his hand around the back of your neck.
"He'd be a fucking dumbass to lose you..."
"Eddie..." you breathed, as he leaned in close.
"I still think about all those nights in the back of my van, and how you used to scream for me..." he admitted, before pressing his lips to your neck.
You knew you should push him away, but you were frozen in place. Memories of his searing kisses and filthy moans clouded your mind.
He then kissed his way up to your lips.
"Why don't I take you home or back to my place and help you forget about King Steve?"
His lips were now hovering over yours.
