Nick: oh... hi!
Y/N: Hi!
Me and nick exchange a quick glance, Sarah was right, the person about to adopt Minnie was in fact someone we knew.
Imogen: hiiiiii! Surprise! I'm the one adopting Brooklyn!
Nick: er, Brooklyn?
Imogen: oh yeah, that's her new name!
Y/N: aww cute, come in and see her
I squeeze Nicks hand as Imogen steps through the doorway and into the living room where the puppies are
Imogen: oh my god they're adorable I could cryyyyyy
Nick leans foward and picks up the puppy now named Brooklyn
Nick: this is her
Imogen: oh my god she's so cute... can I hold her?
Nick: yeah go ahead! She's really friendly
Imogen takes the puppy in her hands and is instantly bombarded with excited licks
Imogen laughs
Imogen: well hello there Brooklyn
Y/N: wow she really likes you! I guess it's a perfect match
Nick: yeah, let me just get my mum and then you two can head off home!
Nick walks out into the kitchen where Sarah is and me and Imogen sit down on the floor with the puppies
Y/N: so you like the puppy?
Imogen: oh my god yes she's so perfect
Y/N: well I'm sure she's going to a great home with you
Imogen: thank you, and while I'm at it, thanks for not holding my minor... obsession... with nick against me...
There's a pause before Imogen quickly adds
Imogen: I'm totally over it now though
Y/N: yeah it's ok, trust me, I know how easy it is to fall for Nick Nelson
Nick: why thank you
Nick and his mum laugh as I go deep red and Imogen's head snaps up like a gunshots just gone off
Y/N: ehem. Anyway. So can Imogen take the puppy now?
Nicks mum: of course, have you got a carrier or a lead for her?
Imogen: I left the carrier by the front door, I'll go and get it
Imogen gently puts Brooklyn down and gets up. After She walks out the room Nick smiles at me slyly
Nick: easy to fall for am I?
Y/N: oh shut up Nelson
He laughs and gives me a quick kiss on the cheek
A few seconds later Imogen's back holding a small dog carrier In her hand
Imogen: got it!
Nicks mum: excellent! Let's load up the pup
Me and Nick say our goodbyes to the puppy and she's loaded into the carrier along with her favourite toy (a small teddy bear that used to be attatched to a keychain)
Imogen: thanks so much guys, feel free to come see her whenever you want! And bring Nellie and Desmond
Nick: thanks Imogen, see you soon
Y/N: have fun with Brooklyn Imogen! See you around
Imogen smiles and we walk her out the door
Nicks mum sighs with a sad smile on her face
Nicks mum: well that's puppy number 1 gone
Nick puts an arm around his mum and smiles at her
Nick: yeah, yeah she is
