Ben: what?
Voice: I said that's enough Ben.
What the actual hell?? No way. He has to be joking or something? I can see from the stunned looks on the others faces that they're not only seeing this too, but are just as shocked as I am at the person currently defending us to ben Hope
Most shocked of all however is Ben himself, who looks like he's been smacked in the face with a saucepan
After a brief pause Ben seems to collect himself and then says
Ben: it was just a joke Harry no need to get all defensive over them
Harry: you just took it too far mate.
I cannot BELIEVE this. Harry freaking Greene is currently standing up for me and Charlie, both of whom he's bullied in the past... what the HELL?! I have no idea what's going On, and I have no idea how to feel about it
Ben: you're kidding right? Since when did you care about that
Harry: it's just been a dick at the end of the day there's no need.
Ben: some people deserve it
Harry: just cause Charlie dumped you doesn't mean you get to treat them like this
Ben: y- you heard that?
Harry: yeah. And it's a bit pathetic you getting all angry about it
Ben: but-
Harry: just go home mate it's not worth it
Ben: fine...
Ben looks worried, really worried. I can see why, I mean, Harry Greene now knows he's not straight, which can't be an easy thought to sit with
He looks at Harry, his eyes almost glazed over with panicked tears
Harry: I won't tell anyone don't worry about it mate
Harry patted Ben hard on the back and Ben walks away quickly with his hands in his pockets, not looking back at us
Harry turns to face us all and there's an eternity of stunned silence, during which Harry seems to process exactly what he just did. His face doesn't give much away but I can tell he's a little bit impressed with himself deep down
Nicks the first to speak
Nick: thanks for that. That was big of you
Y/N: yeah... thanks...
Charlie: thanks...
It's the most awkward thanks I've ever given. How exactly do you thank an asshole for standing up to an asshole?
Nick: what changed?
Harry: what do you mean?
You never would've done that before
Harry looks down at the ground Awkwardly, clearing trhing to form an answer
I just... figured if like... I just let people be themselves a bit more... maybe things would be better? And he was tryna stop that happened so...
Isaac: impressive...
Harry shrugs
Harry: so why did you dump him anyway? I didn't hear the whole conversation.
