Chapter 19

I've realized I have been focusing on other things a lot more than my fanfic.

"I... I made it out.. I finally made it.. out..." The man said just before losing all the life in his eyes, falling down appearing relieved he finally got out of the estate.

"He died.." Barrow said, letting the man down dusting dirt off of him. Walking over to Cale who was occupied by the siblings.

"Was that your brother?" Cale asked the siblings, pointing to the man who was now lying peacefully on the ground not bloodied up this time like in the manga thanks to Barrow.

"No... That's not our brother.." The girl said, speaking up this time shaking her head.

"That's not him, our brother was wearing a kimono." The boy said after his sister, peeking over to look at the body. Wincing at the sight of and injuries of the man's body he turned away from the sight of it.

"We'll go in the house and search for the cause and-" Cale announced to everyone, standing up walking away from the siblings.

"And who's we? Surely not you right Cale?" Barrow said, butting in disrupting Cale who was telling everyone what they were gonna do.

"Urgh..." Cale groaned in frustration, firstly who the fuck disrupts someone while they were talking, and second he was never planning to go in by 'we' Cale meant the others not him. But all Cale could do was give a shake as a response to Barrow's question.

"Well you better not." After all you know the limits we have right? Since this is a closed off world owned by them If we use too much power here they'll recognize us. Barrow said, communicating with Cale telepathically.

"I got it, you don't need to tell me." Cale replied back, averting his gaze from Barrow who just shaked his head. Seeing Cale's reaction he's bound to do something extremely extra anyways although it'll make it dangerous but he can fend them off anyways.

"Good then, we'll leave Nezuko here with you and the siblings." Barrow said, with Tanjiro agreeing from behind.

"Alright... then hurry up and go before I change my mind." Cale said, sighing, walking over sadly like a kid who didn't get what they wanted in the toy section to the siblings who were now beside the box Nezuko was in. Barrow looked at Cale with an odd expression before signaling Tanjiro and Zenitsu.

"Please take care of my sister well!" Tanjiro said, waving to Cale who just nodded before going into the estate.

"H-hey you guys will protect me if anything bad happens r-right...?" Zenitsu asked clutching onto Tanjiro's haori.

"I hate to break it to you Zenitsu but... we injured ourselves in a battle yesterday." Barrow said, in a joking tone however Zenitsu misunderstood due to the lack of tone in Barrow's tone and began crying out in desperation.

"I-if you guys are injured who will protect me, does this mean I'll die? I'll die today?! I haven't even gotten a girlfriend yet!" Zenitsu wailed, concerned about whatever it is he was concerned about Barrow paid no attention to the crying Zenitsu, trying to recall the parts that happened here according to Cale.

Creak! 

A loud creak echoed from the hallway surrounding them, shaking the ground.

"Oh-" Barrow let out a small gasp, noticing how instead of being split into two rooms three rooms appeared instead, separating them from each other.

"So what are your names?" Cale asked, looking at the siblings despite knowing every characters names already. If he were to just call them by their names the moment they had met, they wouldn't have trusted Cale at all.

"My names Teruko and his name is Shoichi." Teruko said, pointing at her brother who still seemed concerned for their elder brother.

"I see, well you might already know but my name is Cale-" Cale replied back before being interrupted by a loud sound from the inside.

Startled the twins inched closer to Cale for emotional support, Cale being 'too tired and wanting to slack off for a bit' let them do whatever while observing the building.

'He better have not done anything stupid to the point outer gods realize we're here and not just them. ' Cale mentally sighed, looking at the box Nezuko was in making scratching noises. Perhaps she was worried about Tanjiro.

"S-should we go inside mister?" Shiochi asked, peeking from behind Cale. Cale shaked his head as an answer, they should be fine especially Barrow unless something doesn't go according to the plot.

"If you say so..." Shiochi said, mumbling however Cale was still able to hear what the boy said clearly.

"Huh... Where the hell am I now?" Barrow looked around, observing the room he was currently in. The room seemed to be more different than what Cale had described.

The room seemed a little more modernized but not to the point anyone already living in this world would notice, however Barrow could easily recognize this place had at least some useful information here.

Picking up a journal from a stand, Barrow opened up to the next page.

Today I have encountered a place somewhere in the woods near here. 

Past this house is a cave hidden by trees and leaves when I checked inside

I could see some sort of puddle of black liquid, however the smell was too agonizing that I had to leave immediately.

"Is this perhaps... dead mana...? But how did it get here?" Barrow looked at the journal in deep thought, puzzled by the idea of dead mana even being here. Flipping the journal to the next pages for more information.

The very night when I went back to the exact location I could see a group of people,

They seemed to be doing something with the black substance. 

But the next morning when I checked to see if the puddle was there.

It had disappeared as if no puddle had ever existed.

"I should put keep this and let Cale know about it." Barrow quickly tucked in the journal of recordings by the anonymous person into his haori.

'Hey Cale, Cale? Can you hear me?' Barrow asked, trying to telepathically connect with Cale.

"That's weird... usually he'd respond right away." Barrow thought out loud, before looking for an exit in the room.

okay im genuinely sorry for posting once a month but im a free writer and dont really plan these out so it takes me a while to update as well as school already started.
